Cannot say enough good things about Zoggs. We (my husband, 5 month old and I) were in Rehoboth Beach for an overnight on our drive home from Florida. When we first walked in, it felt like a âlocalâs onlyâ dive bar, but we were quickly greeted with a warm welcome and told we could sit where we felt most comfortable since we had the car seat with us. There were also two gentleman playing music. We sat in a booth close to where the music was playing. Even the musicians acknowledged us!
Preston was our server. He was phenomenal! He was friendly and attentive without being on top of us. He took our drink orders promptly. We both got a crush drink. I didnât love mine, so I ordered a strawberry margarita instead. He offered to remove the crush from our bill and make me something else. My husband said he would drink it though. 12/10 highly recommend the marg! The flavors were phenomenal. You could taste the tequila, but it wasnât so strong it overpowered the whole drink or your palate.
We ordered half a dozen oysters and they were some of the best Iâve ( weâve) had in a while. Very well shucked, very flavorful and perfectly briny without feeling like you just drank ocean water after being hit with a big wave. There was hot sauce on the table we both tried on an oyster it was so good we asked Preston if they sold any! They do and he said heâd bring us a bottle at the end of our meal if they had any in stock, but if they didnât we could order it online! Luckily they had some!!
For my meal I got the Fried Grouper Finger appetizer. I was nervous it wasnât going to be enough for a meal but figured I could always order something else if not. They were gigantic! 3 full pieces of fish! The batter was flavorful and held up to the fish and the Chipotle Mayo was the perfect amount of spice! I was only able to eat about a piece and a half before I got full! My husband ordered the Jerk Grouper Tacos on the signature house fried crispy shell. The flavors were fantastic! The shell was so crispy and not at all greasy! Held up to all the fixins too! Unfortunately we didnât take photos of the meals themselves.
The musicians were so fun! They acknowledged our son throughout our meal, but not in an overbearing way. Asked what kind of music we liked and played music from the bands we mentioned! We could both hear the music AND converse with each other without feeling like we were yelling. We stayed about 20 min longer than we âwanted toâ just to hear more and bc they were so interactive with us ( and the baby)!
Preston made us feel at home and so welcome throughout our entire meal. My husband and I decided that when we visit Rehoboth in the futureâŠZoggâs will always be a...
Read moreI recently dined at the rum shack on 7/26 around 5 oclock for dinner. My family and I were seated in the back bar originally. Once we asked our original server about the happy hour âbuck a shuckâ he told us it was only available for bar guests. Before we got up to go to the bar, we then asked our server which oyster can we get that wasnât grainy and still receive the discount. Our original server then told us that all of the oysters were available for the deal. After being told this information, we moved to the rum shack and had Cheyenne as our server/bartender. We ordered 2 full dozens of pink oysters after being told about the deal. After we received the bill, we noticed she charged us full price. She said that it was only applicable to the Chesapeake oysters. No where on the menu mentioned this & we asked the question prior to going to the bar. Once we said something to her, she seemed to understand the situation & proceeded to say âI will take that off for youâ and disappeared. Well, when she came back she wasnât able to charge us the appropriate price for happy hour & said she cursed out our original server and spoke to her manager and they can only charge us for a dozen and a half. Why say something before you spoke to management about resolving the issue and feeding us a false promise? She was gone for 1 minute which was odd considering she talked to management and our other server according to what we were told. I doubt she mentioned anything to anyone because she came back awful fast.We were seriously misled by all staff and will not be recommending this place to anyone who were to visit the area. Itâs a shame because the oysters were amazing and some of the best Iâve had. In addition, we watched her drop cups on the floor and put them back on the top of the stack & watched her serve a man a drink with...

đService - painfully slow. We were in the restraunt for nearly two hours waiting for our food order and then a very long time for our check.
đ Parking - very sparse. Good luck trying to find a space at this location. Also you will need to pay for parking just to eat here. Not worth it.
đłPrice - $120 for 5 apps and a kids meal was on the high side. Sticker shock, especially after not caring for most of the food.
đFood was hit or miss and lacked the presentation that we expected based on photos of food at this location.
đRaw bar - a let down. The online menu shows steamed shrimp as part of their raw bar options. Upon arrival we were told they donât sell steamed shrimp. HUGE let down.
đJerk Chicken Appetizer - Way too large for an app, and lacked presentation and flavor. There was no garnish and no mayo like in the photos. Let down.
đCoconut Shrimp - You pay $15 for 5 shrimp. Over priced for what you get.
đ€ąHoney Chicken - Tasted like it was fried, covered in old bay and honey. Not good at all.
đDirty Shrimp - Delicious combination of pesto, garlic butter and shrimp. Cutting the tails off and cutting the bread in two, would have made the app better and the portion was a bit small, but overall a solid choice.
đMomâs Crab Dip - We ordered this for the tortilla chips. It came with some sort of fried tortilla instead of the...
