I have had the absolute pleasure of attending drag brunch at Silver Peak on the River more times than I can count. Let me just say, it's an unforgettable experience from start to finish! These brunches are held every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. They are private events 18+ and tickets are required. If drag doesn't tickle your fancy like all of us, these are the days to avoid the restaurant. We are LOUD and we are PROUD. First off, the ambiance of the restaurant is lively, welcoming, and stylish. The energy in the air was infectious from the moment we walked in, setting the tone for a fun-filled day. The staff was exceptional – friendly, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs throughout the entire brunch. As for the drag show, WOW. The queens were nothing short of spectacular inside out. Their performances were a flawless mix of humor, high energy, and jaw-dropping talent. Each performer brought their unique flair to the stage, and it was evident they truly love what they do. From their incredible lip-syncs to their stunning costumes, the show was a visual feast that had the entire room captivated. Now, let's talk about the food! The brunch menu was absolutely delicious. We started with mimosas that were perfectly bubbly and refreshing, followed by a spread of mouthwatering dishes. The spicy girl was mouthwatering and delicioso. The portions were generous, and the flavors were on point. Whether you’re a fan of sweet or savory dishes, there's something for everyone. But what really sets Silver Peak apart is the sense of community and inclusivity they foster. Everyone, regardless of background, feels like they’re part of the family here. The energy is contagious, the food is incredible, and the entertainment is top-notch. Whether you’re a regular brunch-goer or new to the scene, you’re guaranteed to have an amazing time. I’ll definitely be coming back again – this is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food, fabulous performances, and a fun, vibrant atmosphere. Highly recommend! Just a really big Maria and Shainia fan. Jessica Magana

Tucked in the heart of downtown Reno just steps from the scenic Riverwalk, Silver Peak Grill and Taproom is more than just a place to eat—it’s a full-on experience. Surrounded by local favorites like Reno Axe, the Reno Visitors Center, and countless other spots worth exploring, this neighborhood hangout is the perfect stop to fuel up while enjoying everything the city has to offer. We grabbed a table outside on the patio, soaking up a warm Reno evening with great people-watching and a view of the city’s downtown charm. From the moment we sat down, the service was on point—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The drinks? Spot-on. Whether you’re into crisp local brews or craft cocktails, Silver Peak knows how to pour a good time. Each sip hit just right and paired beautifully with the relaxed atmosphere. And the food? Delicious. Creative twists on pub-style favorites, hearty plates, and satisfying flavors that show they take pride in what’s coming out of the kitchen. Whether you’re there for a quick bite, a casual dinner, or just to kick back and feel the downtown vibes with a drink after exploring, the menu delivers. Silver Peak Grill and Taproom is the kind of place that captures the spirit of Reno—local flavor, laid-back vibes, and a welcoming energy that makes you want to stay awhile. If you’re visiting the area or even if you’re a local looking for your new favorite patio spot, this is a must-visit. Come hungry, stay for the drinks, and leave already planning your next visit!

I really enjoy Silver Peak and have never had any issues here with all the years I've been a patron. After floating the Truckee River today, we were starving and decided to have lunch before heading home. Because it was a beautiful day, we chose patio seating and shared some video to give you an idea. Our server was friendly and attentive even though he was double sat. I ordered the Salmon Fish & Chips and was not disappointed. It arrived with 3 decent sized pieces and shoe string like fries that have good season to them. The salmon was nice, hot, and juicy and the breading was crisp and airy, yet not overly crunchy or too much breading. I hope my pic captured that. My two friends ordered the Turkey Wrap and the Rueben Sandwich. Both said it was very good and that they'd order it again. My friend shared her fruit with me and it was all so good and ripe. It's worth nothing, there's a handicapped accessible ramp to the front entrance and the women's bathroom has 2 stalls, one being handicapped accessible.

EXPERIENCE My family and I came here looking to try a new restaurant we haven't been to before. We arrived at 1:17pm. We were seated outside and our server, Victor, didn't come to our table until 10-12 minutes later to greet us. Because of the wait, we already looked at the menu and knew what we wanted. We ordered 3 appetizers and 5 entrees. Victor took our order at almost 1:30pm. He didn't come back to the table with our drinks (water) until 10 minutes later. My husband flagged the hostess to ask about our drinks and he said he's coming with them now. He came 5 minutes after that. We also intially asked for lemons and didn't recieve those until we asked again. Our appetizers never arrived so I went in to check out what was going on. I noticed there was barely anyone seated inside (like 2 tables of 2-3 people) so it's not like they were swamped or anything. I found my server and at this point we had been waiting since we placed our orders with him 40 minutes! He said he forgot to put our order in. I went back outside to wait for our food. From the time we got there to the time our food arrived was 1 hour! The appetizers came and then 5 min later our entrees. He also came once to fill our drinks. When he finally came and asked about boxes, I said I didn't need one because I didn't like the burger. I ordered well done and it was clearly rare. He apologized and said he would've taken care of it had he known. We were still eating the appetizers because he dropped the ball with the order and I didn't even eat the burger yet. Upon checking out I asked to speak to the manager. I told him how our experience was and truly felt like we should've been compensated for the terrible experience we had. The manager tried to play the sympathy card and tell me that our server is human and made a mistake (several of them obviously) and he also tells me he is short staffed because 2 people called out. (Not my problem). I asked was there anything he could to the bill since we had a bad experience and he said Victor already took off my burger. My burger was rare anyway and I didn't eat it. He didn't want to do anything to make up for our dining experience. I gave up and said I'll just pay. The manager takes my card and checks us out. Victor, the server, comes back and says that the manager took off 2 of our appetizers from the check. I have NEVER had service like what we had today and I left feeling really disappointed about it all. We will never come back here again.

I really hope Victor had an off day and this wasn't the norm for him. 😕

APPETIZERS Short Rib Poutine -tasted ok....the short rib on top looked like canned beef chunks. It looked nothing like the photos from reviews...large portion size...could share or eat by yourself as an entree!

Black Bean Nachos -tasty...lots of cheese and toppings...no chip was uncovered...portion size is great for sharing or eating as an entree by yourself!

Onion Rings -basket of about 8-10 rings...good...typical onion rings

ENTREES Fire Burger -doneness not correct....I asked for well done and received more like medium rare. My husband asked for medium and his was more done than mine!

Chicken Parmesan -my son liked it. It was a large portion! He ate half and saved the rest. It looked really good!

Pesto Tortellini -my daughter loved it. Delicious creamy pesto sauce and cheese tortellini with grilled chicken on top. Chicken could've used salt, but that's an easy fix.

Sante Fe chicken sandwich -menu doesn't say, but it came with fries...my son liked it and...

Silver Peak in downtown Reno is a decent restaurant and bar. I have been there countless times over the years and I have to say that I think it's going slowly downhill. I know the owners and they have done a great job, and maybe they are losing interest or maybe it's just harder to find good people. The waiters/waitresses I've had over the last year or so have definitely been sub-par. They forget things, don't check in often enough so that if you need something you have to either wait or go looking for someone, and they aren't as competent as I'm used to there.

My GF and I just went last night, and while the waitress was nice, she didn't bother to offer the ground pepper on our salads, a first in all the years I've been going there, and when she brought out the main course, she didn't offer to take plates away until asked, not a huge deal but still...

On a positive note, we both had the clam chowder and like it alot. It was hot, but not overly so, good consistency, with plenty of meat and a flavor that we both liked. And the house salad with beet chips and balsamic dressing was good as always. They do have a decent selection of beer, maybe a tad on the light side but still good. I had a snifter of the hooch, which I really like and which is sort of my go to beer when I eat there.

Parking is usually not an issue if you are willing to park in the attached garage. Personally I'm not a fan of garages and prefer to park on the street and walk, but either way it's not a problem.

All in all it's a decent spot, but as I said earlier, I think they have slipped of late and I hope they can figure it out and get back to being a really nice place to go for a good meal...
