I am new to the area and have been on a quest for good, authentic Mexican food. My favorite dish is chile rellenos. By happenstance I stumbled upon this place and will be forever grateful. First off the server was very friendly and welcoming. She brought our chips and salsa and took our drink order. I don't usually order Micheladas but my companion does and it sounded good so we both ordered one. It came with the most delicious grilled shrimp on the rim as well as crisp fresh cucumbers. I ordered my usual Chile rellenos and my companion got the cheese enchiladas. My Chile rellenos was delicious!! It's served with the usual rice and beans and salad with Pico De Gallo on top. I'm not a refried bean lover and usually mix them with my rice and rarely eat them all but these refried beans were so good! I don't know what they put in them but if I had a bowl of them just by themselves I would eat it all! They were that good! My Chile rellenos was superb. I don't know what kind of cheese they use for the filling but it was creamy and smooth and perfect ! The sauce they make that goes on top was the perfect accompaniment as well as the cojita cheese sprinkled on top. My companion devoured his cheese enchiladas so fast I didn't get a bite but apparently they were delicious too. I noticed they serve breakfast so I plan to go back tomorrow to try their breakfast menu and get some more of...
Read moreI have had to unfortunately lower my rating of this place. Still some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. Especially the Carnitas. However the service is really lacking. They blast the music in this place to an obnoxious degree. My wife and mother in law had to cut their meal short last time they ate there because they couldn't hear each other speak. And it's probably why they never answer the phone for a take out order. Hard to hear the phone. So, you definitely have to wait 20 minutes or so to the sound of obnoxiously loud music. Probably not going to hit this place up again any time soon.
Literally the best carnitas I have ever had! That is saying a lot considering I lived in So-Cal for over 20 years. They achieved the perfect charred crust while keeping the the center of the meat juicy and delicious. Outstanding!
Feeling adventurous? Try the goat meat Birra Soup. Bold, earthy and delicious.
They make their own Tortillas by hand! You cannot get any more authentic than that. Perfectly prepared street tacos. El Pastor is top notch. Can't wait to go back and try their seafood. Yet, I will be honest...it will be very difficult ordering anything other than the carnitas....
Read moreI ordered the Asada and El Pastor street tacos. Amazing. The corn tortillas were perfect, soft, warm, easy to bite into without falling apart, the best tortillas I have ever had for street tacos, which I order all the time. The portion of meat was perfect. Filled the tortilla without falling out. On a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the abosolute best. These street tacos rank a 5 for price and tacos. 4.7 for the meat which was good, but the beef was overdone and slightly dry. I would come bace for these tacos, they were that good. My margarita with prickly pear cactus juice, 5 out of 5. This place would be worth it just for the margaritas! People at the register were great, the music was too loud and a little shouting was happening at 7:30 on a Saturday night. Worth going to for authentic mexican food. Happy dance...
