Hyde Tap and Lounge — Restaurant in Richland

I travel all over for work so have to eat out often. It’s not very often that I am truly ‘wowed’ by a restaurant. This place 100% delivered.

I was staying nearby and had gotten in late, and looked up places close by that were open for dinner. I found this place with many great reviews and the food looked interesting so I decided to give it a try. I ventured over and sat at the bar for a nightcap and dinner.

I was greeted immediately by the friendly, attentive staff. The place was lovely and inviting, and there was an incredible selection of drinks and options on the menu. The worst thing about this place was trying to make a decision on what to get, there were lots of choices and they all sounded amazing.

I’m a bourbon drinker, and they were not lacking thee- neither were they in selections of wine or just about any other libation you could want. Steven and Katherine behind the bar were very patient and answered any questions I had. It all looked so good I had it narrowed down to a couple of selections and we did a fun ‘rock-paper-scissors’ to pick one of the items I was eyeing. I ended up ordering the gochujang pork ribeye with kimchi fried rice. I would have taken a picture of the wonderful presentation of the dish, but I was so into it from the first bite before I thought to do it, it was gone! The dish was just bursting with flavor on so many levels, it was quite possibly one of the best if not THE best meals I’ve had in a long time anywhere.

We like trying new restaurants in the Tricities and Hyde is a nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. It’s got an upscale feel but also a place where you can just relax and enjoy yourself. There’s T.Vs with sports on in the bar, it seemed very relaxed. We opted to sit in the dining room in a cozy booth. I ordered a huckleberry drop and it was really good. My husband had a drink called Side hustle and he enjoyed it. We started with some chicken wings as an appetizer and they were really good. I ordered the steak and it wasn’t great. My husband had a burger and really liked it. My daughter had a deconstructed wrap and enjoyed it. Service was excellent. A young man named Austin really proved to be a bright figure in the restaurant. He was helping with a lot of the tables as well as providing what seemed to be, excellent service for his own tables. Austin was very attentive making sure our water was filled and gave us some really good recommendations on drinks and food. Austin had an upbeat attitude and friendly smile. I noticed he spent a good amount of time at each table smiling and laughing, he seemed to be an hit with most of the customers.

Unfortunately my meal didn’t turn out as well as expected but Austin apologized and offered me several options. I was very appreciative and understand sometimes things happen but I loved the fact that the restaurant wanted to make sure I enjoyed my experience and we did. I would recommend Hyde and will return thanks to the excellent customer service I experienced and look forward to giving some other dishes a try. What a fantastic night out! From start to finish, this dining experience was top notch.

First off—major kudos to the staff for their amazing customer service. We had a reservation with friends who were running a bit behind, and unlike some places that make you wait until your full party arrives, they seated us right away. That simple gesture made a big difference, we got to settle in, sip on a cocktail, and enjoy the vibe instead of awkwardly hovering at the front.

Speaking of vibes, this place nails it. The décor is stylish and upscale, but still warm and inviting (none of that overly stuffy energy here). The staff genuinely seems to love what they do, and it shows. Our server was an absolute gem, funny, helpful, and full of great recommendations. I wish I’d gotten her name, because she really elevated the whole evening.

The drinks are beautifully crafted and super flavorful. They make many of their own syrups in-house, and you can sure taste the difference.

Now the food? Amazing. We shared the wedge salad, pow pow shrimp, and Juanito’s ribeye—and wow. Everything was cooked perfectly. But let me tell you… the gravy with that steak deserves its own standing ovation. Shoutout to our server for the pro tip to order extra. So worth it!

After dinner, we checked out the upstairs lounge, and it’s a whole vibe of its own. The outdoor space is gorgeous, perfect for having a good drink and soaking in the night.
