The Mandarin House has been in business on Lee Blvd for many, many years. I have been going to lunch (and occasionally dinner) there since the early 90's, and the restaurant didn't feel "new" even back then. Little has changed in the layout, decor or menu since those early days, I guess because "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." The interior is not fancy. You won't confuse it with P.F. Chang's. But the menu is good, the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the people that work there are friendly and attentive. This is one of my favorite Chinese food restaurants in the Tri-Cities. If you want good food, and you don't care about fancy, try the Mandarin House.
Over the years, I have tried a number of items on the Mandarin House menu, but I always come back to the Mongolian beef. The Mandarin House makes the best Mongolian beef in the Tri-Cities, and, actually, the best Mongolian beef I've ever eaten at any Chinese restaurant anywhere in the country. For several years I lived in South Dakota. Upon my return to the Tri-Cities, the very first thing I did after settling in to my new apartment was to get some Mandarin House Mongolian beef! Read moreWe came based on the reviews. Even though there was only one waitress on staff (they were short staffed) our food was fresh and service was fast. We had the wonton soup, egg rolls , orange chicken and black pepper pork, and hot tea. Everything was fantastic. I have a cold at the moment and the tea and soup warmed me up and made me feel a lot better and the broth was savory and rich with flavor. You get alot of food, enough to share. Egg rolls were super fresh and the best I've had in a while! I can see why people have been going here for years!! It's a.mom and pop.kind of feel. We spent 32 bucks rounded up not including tip. Will...
Read moreThe last time we went here will literally be the last time we ever go here! We waited 45 minutes for them to take our order! Not sure if they just forgot about us or what! A couple that walked in about 15-20 minutes after, got their order taken before us and was served their food before us! Also, the food is just waaaaaaaay too salty and the rice was really mushy! So disappointed, it was really hard to pay for our meal as it was just so bad! Do yourself a favor, skip this place and go to the Golden Palace. They'll treat you sooooo much better, their food is better, the portions are a lot bigger and the price is so...
