My partner and I went to dine at this restaurant after so many people recommended this place for our Anniversary. Food start off okay. Bread and a salad but the main course came omg! I was at my seat finishing my salad and can smell from the kitchen 50 feet away, a very pungent smell of bad seafood. Bad crab or fish meat… weird because it was just me and my partner dinning. He order pork protein and I order fettuccine pasta with prawn. I was hoping that it wasn’t my food. Then once my food came out I can smell the foul smell of bad seafood. As if they rinsed it trying to take out the smell. I didn’t want to be rude since I was out for dinner for our Anniversary and my man was trying to set something nice for me and him. I still tried the prawn and after OMG 😳 I couldn’t continue. The “taste and smell” smh had to call the waitress and explain that the seafood is very awful and spoiled even after they coated with fettuccine noodle and cream sauce! We still end up paying $97 after the pasta was taken out.
My disappointment was with the chef!! How did you try and push that pasta dish past the kitchen and on to the floor? Knowing that the seafood was spoiled and tried and coat it with cream sauce!!
We still try and make the best of it because it’s our first anniversary. I’m not a picky eater and even if the food is nasty or bland at other places I never complain but spoiled food and especially seafood smh HUG DISAPPOINTMENT and coming from hospitality I couldn’t believe it. I end up throwing up ten mins later.
Prior career working along side executive chefs, this went against health code.

Read moreThe introduction to my meal was very pleasant with warm soft bread unlike any I’ve tried before. The darker of the two had a faint taste of red wine cooked into that bread giving a sweet unexpected aroma and flavor. The lighter breadstick was delightfully soft with aromatic garlic, flaky salt and herbs complimenting eachother perfectly. The citrus house made balsamic vinegar alongside this pristine olive oil was quite the addition to these baked specialties.
Monterosso’s Bruschetta, had the most endearing first bite of crusty bruschetta bread full of intertwining flavors. The sweetness of molasses mixed alongside the fresh creaminess of their house made mazzarella. With a healthy amount of basil and their elegant diced Roma tomatoes. It’s savory sweet creamy deliciousness with an aromatic flair from the basil and their freshly ground black pepper over the top. Truly a refreshing start to any meal.
The pork cheek is so tender it falls apart at the slightest touch with a deep porky flavor. Paired alongside a deliciousy creamy, savory entanglement of black garlic, truffle infused oil cream sauce. This meal makes leftovers seem hard to fathom as you’ll struggle to resist another bite. Delicious all around. 100/10
The tirimasu was a deliciously creamy coffee, lightly chocolaty specialty that I became lost in before remembering to describe its taste here. Quite a finishing treat having all these tasty flavors meld into one nap inducing combo of pure sweet enjoyment. For one of the best examples of Italian cuisine in all of the tricities. Come try Monterosso’s!! I will certainly be...
Read moreAt a reservation only restaurant, one would not expect to stand in the entry area for 10-15 minutes. Upon being seated, one would expect to receive water or ordered drinks in a timely manner. It was not the case. 15-20 minutes. We did receive our appetizer very shortly after we received our drinks. We ordered our meals after ordering drinks. About 5-10 minutes later. At 7:50 our 1st waitress was asked about how long does it usually take for orders like ours. Then we were offered a bread for our table. Seeing two nearby tables receive drinks and bread within minutes of being seated was disappointing. Our meals came at about 8:15. My husband's food was warm, not hot. The steak was not cooked to his ordered preference. My food was decent. Our son and grandson said their meals were good. We don't know if this a typical experience. Although, we do know it was not an enjoyable experience. I'm going to leave a couple suggestions for Monterosso's. 1st - standing in the entry/exit would a lot more comfortable with a door and seating. 2nd - your prices are high enough. You shouldn't punish people that can't or don't eat Gluten by up charging on Gluten-free pasta. 3 - get chairs with a little cushion or tie on cushions. The "Comped" Mousse and espresso did little to help in the end. This was a birthday dinner. Seriously, not impressed. I have meant to update with this information. Our reservation...
