Lemme start off by saying, I LOVE Mo' Bettahs! I frequent the Layton and 12th Street locations, so I am very familiar with the chain. Today we visited at 11am for an early lunch. The restaurant was empty but smelled like charred meat, not at all appetizing. I ordered the mini with Katsu Pork and Teriyaki Chicken. The kid making the plates spoke very mumbled, and kept cutting words short, so even being familiar with the chain, I hesitated often when he would say things like "Mac & White?" or "Kats and Ter Chic?" and I'm like, what language are you even speaking?!? Then the teriyaki chicken was served without any sauce on it, and the Katsu pork wlas well, but we were only allowed ONE sauce cup, even though we had TWO different meats. But the worst of it, the absolute worst part of the entire experience, was the lack of cleanliness! Had it been 1pm, in the middle of the lunch rush, I would have understood, but there was not a soul in this place but us! The table was sticky, the sleeves of my hoodie kept getting stuck to the table, there were food particles on the floor, the floor in front of the soda machines was sticky, and the bathrooms were AWFUL! There was dirt or grease or some otherwise filthy marks on the automatic light switch, on the baby changing table, and on the sink. There was visible dust on every surface, and a yellow substance splattered around the front of the sink. This bathroom HAS NOT been cleaned in DAYS, I guarantee it! I will continue to frequent Mo Bettahs, because I'm pretty sure I couldn't live without their food, but I doubt I will ever be going back to this...
Read moreWithout a doubt, it was the worst place I've eaten from in all of Utah. Walk in, 2 people in line. No big deal. 2 cars in the drive thru, no big deal. Shouldn't be too busy.
After standing in line and waiting 20 minutes for food to be cooked, no apology for the delay. Alright, we'll get over it. The food will be worth the wait.
No. The food is not worth the wait. Couldn't even finish it. It was disgusting.
Walk to the cashier. Let's pay. The food order total is around $20, not the worst but a little pricey for the amount of meat I received(barely anything).
Cashier proceeds to press the button in the tip area in front of me for a 20% tip and instructs me to "go ahead and insert" and smiles at what he just did.
I changed the tip to reflect what they were actually worth after 20 minutes of waiting. Cashier wasn't happy about it, and his smile went away, and he stared me down(kid looked like he was 12, so it didn't work). I ask for some sauce(which was also disgusting), and the cashier throws it across the counter at me.
Don't go here. Don't tell your friends to go here. Remove this place from your memory. Treat it like "you know who" from Harry Potter. Avoid at all costs. Go for the Wendy's 4...
Read moreThe chicken was a little underdone, but still tasted good. The macaroni salad was fantastic, the Kalua pig was as good as expected, and I the fruit juice was very good. I kind of wish they had an offering for a small plate with just one meat serving as even the mini is a lot of food. Next time I'd probably do a double serving of the Kalua pig. Leftovers will definitely get eaten though. The young lady at the counter did a great job answering questions, taking orders, and keeping the line moving.
One thing that could use improvement, and this is probably a franchise thing, not just this store, is that the glass between the food and the customers makes it really difficult for the employees and customers to hear each other, especially with music playing, the grill and fans going, and other people in the dining area. I know the food has to be protected from contamination, but a different setup that covers to top without going as high would really help communication with the staff when ordering. It was hard for all of us to hear the worker, especially older people who are hard of hearing, and for the...
