I've never done my nails and I went to this location to buy some stuff to get started. There's a big Wicked Promotion I was directed to by the staff and there was a pack of 12 nail colors for $15.99 on one of the shelves. PERFECT! I got to the register and it rang up for $50. I said 3 times that I couldn't afford it before the cashier finally stopped moving forward with the transaction. I said I'd go back and pick some other ones. After browsing for a bit and feeling disappointed I decided to go look at the sign again and it absolutely said "$15.99 OPI Wicked". The box fit perfectly in the slot so it wasn't like it was just misplaced by a customer. I took a picture on my phone to show them so they could change the price. I went back to the cashier and said "I looked and the sign says $15.99". The same cashier as before AGGRESSIVELY said "No. It doesn't." I always try to moderate my tone with customer service workers. I've worked retail most of my adult life and I know it can be stressful. I wasn't blaming the cashier. I was just trying to let them know. I said "...yes it does. I took a picture." And again angrily they demanded "Show me." to which I did but I was flustered. They said "That's not the same product". And I said "it says 'OPI Wicked'." Again, I don't know anything about nail products. I've never done my nails. It fit in the spot and it said OPI Wicked. Apparently this is the label for the fake nails, but I didn't know that! I am feeling pretty attacked now and say that I was just hoping they'd honor the price on the shelf. The manager steps in and tell the cashier to take a break. The manager explains that it was in the wrong spot and I ask if they can show me where it's supposed to go because I wouldn't have picked it up if it had said $49.99. Literally none of the employees knew where it was supposed to go. The manager then still refused to honor the price even though she'd seen the cashier be surprisingly hostile to me and admitted she didn't even know where it was supposed to go in the display. She offered me $3 off the total price. A still different employee went out of their way to try and help me find more affordable options. The manager just abandoned me. She claimed that she couldn't change the price when we all know she could. And she could've at least done better than $3 off. She told me that she saw how I was treated as well. They weren't busy. There weren't even other customers around. This was embarrassing and so needless. I will not be going back to this Ulta. Probably no Ulta again. I can buy online without being treated like a bad person for just seeing a product for a price on a shelf. Apparently this store isn't for people who want to explore new...
Read moreI hate to give a lower review because I really love Ulta in general. But almost every time that I go into this store I feel like I'm an inconvenience to the employees. There's been a few exceptions to this, but for the most part I feel like they don't want to help me. The other reason I'm giving low stars is because of my experience this week. I ordered a bottle of shampoo online to pick up in the store. I have been unable to go but my husband has gone twice to go pick it up for me. The first time was partly my mistake. I guess you are supposed to receive a confirmation email that your order is completed and it is ready to picked up. I made the mistake thinking I had received such an email but I actually received the email that the order has been received and will be done shortly. I sent my husband to go get the shampoo and they would not allow him to get it. It's literally sitting on their shelves so I don't understand why they couldn't just give it to him and complete the order. The second trip my husband made was 2 days later. He had to run to the store anyway so he said he would pick up the shampoo for me. When he got there there was nobody around to help him. Eventually, a woman who didn't speak English as her first language helped him out. I am not trying to blame her. She probably didn't fully understand what he was asking. But since his name was not listed as a pickup person, she would not let him have it even though we have the same last name! I feel like that's a really picky policy. So again I feel like the first time they could have just grabbed it off the shelf or something and then fulfill the order. The second time why didn't they just let him pick it up? Shampoo for goodness sake. It's not like it's a fancy blow dryer or something. I'm just really upset that now I have to make the trip myself after two failed attempts. I should have just bought it at the store of myself or had my husband do the same. This ordering process has kind of been a nightmare.
*UPDATE:
I don't know the name of the lady who helped me, but when I finally was able to go myself and pick up my order, she was very kind and helpful. So that's good. It is weird, though, that there is usually no one standing at the pick-up counter. And there's no bell to ring or button to push, so you have to find an employee (who is often ornery at this location) to come and help you. I feel like they need to work on their customer service as a whole, minus the lady who helped me because she was great. Like, I'm really trying not to be a "Karen" here but I really feel like they have let many people down, and not just me and they need to work on some things....like actually being...
Read moreI have gone to this store more times than I can count, before my experience was always great and no one was unpleasant and they had amazing in sights on products, unfortunately for the past 1-2 years it has been the opposite, every time I go, I get judgmental glares especially when I haven’t done my makeup that day and associates roll their eyes when asked for help, I have done my best to avoid the store at all costs do to this, I went tonight and it was the same stuck up attitude, an example from another day when shopping sometime in October, (this is the closest store that carries my perfume) I had to ask an employee 5 different times to have someone come to unlock the perfume and take it to the front, I got multiple comments of “Did you want the smallest one?” “Are you sure you want 2?” And when asking the price just to see what it was at, the employee rolled her eyes and only said the price of the smallest size “This one is $79… Sooooo” implying I couldn’t afford it, I love the products and that’s the worst part of all of this, I have avoided making a review until today, just hoping I came in on a bad day, I left that day, when buying the perfume livid. Overall everytime I leave this store I’m in a bad mood, I miss the days when I would come and be ecstatic about my new products, it’s very sad and unfortunate that these women make 15-16 an hour and want to act stuck up and better than everyone else. And on that day after spending $500 it made me upset instead of happy to have extra stock in the LARGEST size of my perfume.. I was going to make a review then but didn’t get around to it and tonight had another horrible experience. The products are amazing, but sadly I’m not sure I’ll be returning and will find somewhere else that carries products I like with helpful staff members even if the price of products is higher than here.. I’d rather leave spending more, feeling better and excited, than spending less, feeling looked down on and unhappy.. I hope this changes, but I’m not...
