Urbane Cafe — Restaurant in Riverside

I really thought I found a gem here and to be honest the food is good. That’s where it ends tho. I dealed with a fiasco on uber eats trying to cancel and both parties were denying the ability to cancel. Also the manager straight up lied and told me my food was taken, I pulled up and on the app I got a new driver and showed the food was not yet picked up. I still ordered food but I was so upset that the manager could not help me or offer me any kind of condolences after I finnaly got uber to call her and have her sign off the cancel. All this could have been avoided easily. The food I picked up didn’t taste right/ I didn’t finish it wondering if they messed with it to spite me…. I really hope they didn’t mess with my sick mom’s food and if they did I hope you read this and feel like a terrible human. I will not be returning unless they train that manager on customer service more or replace her with someone more capable. Also the wait was ridiculous for like three people but somehow my uber eats order was done in less then ten minutes lol please take out the trash too!!!! Cute casual cafe located in the heart of the same shopping center as Old Navy, Sephora, Carter’s, and Michael’s. After a long day of shopping it’s nice to finally see a healthy option available for the community. First things first, I love the bread they use for their sandwiches. It’s light, yet soft and delicious. The menu has the perfect amount of options for everyone in your family. Service was good on our visit. They also offer kids meals which includes a sandwich with a side of either fruit OR chips but I thought it was a bit weird it Does Not include a juice box or mini water. Generally a kids meal is complete with entree,1 side and drink so keep in mind you’ll have to pay for a full price drink if you want your child to have one. They have fresh baked cookies in the front that taste great. If you have a chance I’d recommend them. Quick note: We chose to sit inside the cafe to wait for our food. Review #1: Ordered a cilantro chicken salad to go. When I got home to eat it there was no chicken on my salad. I could have got the same salad at the grocery store for $5.

Review #2: One week later…I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to give them a second try. I was in the mood for salad so I ordered the Santa Maria BBQ Chicken SALAD. I sit down and what comes out? The Santa Maria BBQ SANDWICH. First of all, who names two items almost identically on the same menu. I blame this one on the owners. Second, if you work there and you know there are two items with very similar names it should probably be standard to ask for clarification.

FYI I don’t ever write reviews but these were special circumstances. I paid good money for the first item, and when the main entre isn’t on your plate it’s a little frustrating. Then I give them another shot and just another...
