My family and I had entered the restaurant. The host made eye contact with my mother, and then drifted his eyes to his computer screen. My mother does not take poor service well, and had remained at least a few feet in front of him here and there, until she felt she had to sit down. A few minutes later, another family came in. They were given full attention, and were immediately seated. Noting this is Rohnert Park, a town with less acceptance towards ethnic diversity, it is no surprise that a Caucasian family was given priority than a family of Southeast Asian descent.
We had been going to this restaurant for about five years now, so I believe this review is quite accurate in highlighting a summary of our years of dining in this particular Olive Garden on Redwood Drive. Upon being seated, we were not given utensils and handkerchiefs. It was not until less than twenty minutes later that we were given those items, with the handkerchiefs placed on our table with a small hint of aggression. Nothing explicit, but body language matters. After moderate service from then on out, we ignored the lack of attention payed to one of our requests and payed a tip of fifteen percent.
On our way out, we heard our waiter say "That family had payed me a horrible tip."
I am making no assumptions about the reasons to the way we have been served. However, please rate up and post your experiences if this reflects what you have experienced in the past. Having talking about this peers of mine since coming up here (both "locals" and "out of towners," these experiences of ours are quite normalized. People write reviews because they had experienced something unique, good or bad. Let us really...
Read moreRUN IF YOU GET BRI AS A WAITRESS!!! We had a really disappointing lunch today. We have had great experiences at other Olive Garden chains, but not this one. The first time I ate at this location was a few months ago for dinner, the waiters were cute little Hispanic boys who were very polite and attended to my needs and I enjoyed my meal. When I told my boyfriend we ate at the same location as the last time he was completely shocked. Today our waitress (pretty sure her name was Bri) was rude, unhelpful, and it felt like she was trying to get me and my partner to leave. She never once checked on us, we had to ask other waitresses (who were clearly much more on top of things) for breadsticks and whatnot. Never once refilled our water or asked if we wanted anything, and she didn’t respond when I asked for items (ie didn’t say “sure thing” or “here you go” in response, just dumped it on the table). She really made our experience here unenjoyable and we did not feel welcome. She didn’t smile once and when I needed water or breadsticks I saw her just standing around by the front. We came in on a slow Tuesday afternoon. We were only halfway finished when she came over and asked if we were ready for boxes. My boyfriend and I are understanding people, but it became obvious that she wasn’t just having a bad day - she was lazy. I’ve never had such disappointing service at an Olive Garden, I hope that they drop the dead weight, there are some waitresses who are really bringing the vibe down. Additionally, the bathroom needs to be more carefully attended, as there were no paper towels...
Read moreOn October 4, 2024, my family and I visited Olive Garden to finally experience the much-touted never-ending pasta deal. Growing up, I always saw ads and dreamed of trying it, so when I finally had the means as an adult, I was excited to indulge.
I arrived and asked the waiter about the deal, which she confirmed was still available. However, I was disappointed to see the price was $15.99 plus $4.99 for meat—higher than the $13.99 + 4.99 for meat. I had seen on TV. I figured it would still be worth it since I could get seconds. and it’s not starting at 13.99 , it’s starting at 15.99.
Unfortunately, while I did receive a second bowl of pasta, it was disappointingly small, more like a side dish than the generous serving I had anticipated. Meanwhile, my family members ordered regular dishes that cost more than mine. I love a good deal, but this experience fell short. Thankfully i closed my tab before they charged me for my “ free” refill of pasta. The misrepresentation and the portion size left me feeling let down. please don’t false advertise!
