Office Depot — Local services in Rohnert Park

Stopped in to buy a laptop desk. They had one for 129.00 with a 50% off sign sitting on the desk. I asked the workers at the front desk how long it would be on sale and they said until Friday. I left to go home to measure, then headed to the Santa Rosa location where they said it wasn't on sale. I had them call the Rohnert park location to check. The employee said he called and checked but the guy said no it wasn't on sale and hung up on him. So I drove back to the Rohnert park location where I saw he same 50% off paper on the same laptop desk. I asked the employee about it and he said that the table was not half off -even tho the 50% tag was still on it. I asked the manager to help me and he also said he would not honor the sign that was on the desk. I told him that I asked earlier in that store and they told me it would be on sale until Saturday. He then started telling me that the employee should have checked - that he just came off of vacation - all irrelevant to the fact hat he still would not give the discount. So, my advice is the price they show on there floor sometimes is not going to be what they charge you. And they will not honor the price on the item. Not a very good way to...

PATRICK IS OUR HERO! We live in Cloverdale and Husband is starting a large subdivision getting his office set up. We went into Rohnert Park OD/M and in our haste we left half or product on counter. My husband had put in back of truck.. we took off. He took about a week plus to build out office. By the time we unpacked truck it had been like I said OVER a week. We are talking about $200 in products we left behind in a bag. We called having little hope of proving we didn't have the items other then the receipt. We called. PATRICK ANSWERED!!! HE REMEMBERED US AND HAD PUT BAG OFF TO SIDE!!!!! WHO DOES THAT ANYMORE???!!! He is a rare find in an employee. We drove the 40 miles picked our items up and I can't tell you how happy we were. There was this thing back in the day called " a handshake kind of guy" that mean honest with integrity. Patrick is one of those. When I worked with the public, my store encouraged us to hunt down people like him and recruit them. It helps us all when we know the people we work with go above and beyond. Deceitful sales practices --- needed an ink cartridge for my printer - looked it up online and saw that the price was the same from Amazon and Office Depot ... I decided to support my local merchant so I drove to the store - I was shocked when the price for the identical product was $16 MORE than online ( keep in mind I could have ordered it online from OD and picked it up at my local store ) When I went to the register I told the sales associate my discovery - he looked it up and it was $16 cheaper online ... he had no response when I asked why but his body language told me this happens often ! And you wonder why people don't shop locally when even a big company like Office Depot has fraudulent business practices ... go ahead buy it on Amazon - we can't trust this big...
