Breakfast at Cafe Mimosa was wonderful.
The vegetarian eggs Benedict had startling amounts of flavor and the crispy, chewy, pillowy crumpet the eggs floated upon was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were all individually great, but melded into something better than the parts. How often can you say a restaurant tomato tasted like it came from a garden? And with the basil, garlic and spinach, topped with hollandaise. Holy hell, it was like a massive wad of flavor explosion I nearly choked from the sheer volume of scrumptiousness. The poached eggs birthed a perfectly thickened, smooth yolk that wove its way into filling every pore of the luscious crevices of the crumpet.
The chilaquiles were brightly flavored... The chips straddled perfectly the balance of crispy and soft texture, when glazed over by the green sauce. Perfectly seasoned and cooked beans popped into creamy smoothness when eaten. The Pico de Gallo and eggs combined to make something special. The avocado portion was incredibly generous.
Which bring us to the only bit of negative, the unripe avocado. I can genuinely give this a pass, as this is fully understandable given when we went and the logistics of having perfectly ripe avocados after having been closed for a holiday and being at the mercy of a produce supplier that was also likely closed for a few days.
The single pancake side was generously topped with fresh, perfectly ripe berries (strawberry, blackberry, and raspberry) and had excellent texture and flavor, but wasn't quite the standout compared to the other dishes.
Sobriety means no mimosas, but they sure looked delicious and there was a lot of variety. In another life!
Definitely will...
Read moreYelp never fails. While visiting the area for a wedding, my husband found this establishment on none other than YELP!
It was a great choice. When we arrived, several people that were attending the same wedding were already waiting in line. That stamped the decision we made to come here.
The service was great, the food was delicious and the location was ideal. Cafe Mimosa sits in a corner lot in a local shopping center. With how popular it seems to be, it definitely needs more parking.
The mimosas are very tasty. Getting the flight and trying different flavors is definitely the move.
We came back for a second day and the food was still delicious and consistent.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the breakfast burrito was missing something in flavor. It was good but a little bland. The second reason was because we had a big party the first day and our toast wasn't delivered until everyone was almost finished eating. The french toast was delicious but kind of chewy. Im used to french toast being a little more soft and easy to cut. Presentation is perfect from the mimosas to the food. Parking and taste on some items can use a little improvement.
Great staff. Quick service. I would...
Read moreSo I was going to go to a different location nearby, but they were not open yet, so I happened upon this little gem just down the street!! Let me say up front it was lunch time and they were SLAMMED! I chose outside seating and sat right down. Thirty seconds later I had a menu and my drink order placed by a wonderful wide smiling waitress. 2 minutes later I had my drink and ordered the Reuben sandwich.
Small menu which speaks to me. Large menus can mean lack of focus on the core popular menu items.
Even though they were booked up front to back and outside the wait staff were all smiles and very attentive.
I had my sandwich within 10 minutes (see photo)
Wonderful presentation albeit a little small. Taste was spot on as well! Good sandwich! Standard shoe string fries were light and crispy, not limp and greasy. I saw a chicken sandwich go by to another table that I plan to get next time I go! Yes…I will be...
