My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out since The StrikeZone stopped serving breakfast. We came here on Friday, 4/08/22 at 8:00am. It was almost empty when we walked in, we were greeted right away and asked to seat ourselves. We noticed right away that the floors were clean, music was playing and the waitresses were eager to serve us. The prices of our drinks (traditional Bloody Mary & Orange Juice Mimosa) was a little expensive, but for 8:00am on a Friday in downtown Saco, we really couldn’t complain! I chose Salted Caramel & Pecan Belgian waffles while my boyfriend decided to get a twist on his favorite dish, Irish Eggs Benny. Least to say- my waffles didn’t have very much caramel on them, and the hollandaise sauce tasted sour in my boyfriends opinion. Overall we decided on three stars, because the service was great and timely.

New Moon is a great little breakfast spot in downtown Saco! They have a little bit of everything on the menu— so something for everyone. There is usually a wait over the weekend, so be sure to get there early to put your name in, especially if you have a large party. Parking is not usually an issue. The restaurant is not air conditioned, so it can get steamy in there in the summer. The food is still worth it! They’re famous for their Cinnabon Pancakes (pictured below!). Enjoy!!

The best breakfast! I had the 2 eggs with corn beef hash, the hash is homemade deliciousness. I also had one cinnamon bun pancake that was amazing. Crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside! My boyfriend had the eggs Benedict with hash and he said it was a 10/10. The traditional mimosa and bellini were strong and tasty. There was a wait but it was defintely worth it and the staff is very friendly! I will be coming back when I am back in the area.

I really, really wanted to like this place because of the amazing and way above-average customer service. We called ahead for a table of 6 and were seated promptly upon arrival. Coffee arrived hot and fast, and the waitstaff was incredibly friendly. We all ordered our meals and they arrived about 10 minutes later. Some of the items were impressive (their French toast made with super thick French bread looked incredible!) My daughter ordered a Salted Caramel Waffle but it did not arrive with the rest of the order. She had gotten a side of sausage (thank goodness) because 10 minutes into the meal, she still hadn't gotten her waffle. We were told that the kitchen burnt it and were waiting on another one. She did get it when the rest of us had finished. The waitress told us she was going to take it off the bill and apologized for the mishap (again, super nice!) Other than the person who got the French toast, the rest of our group agreed that the food was simply sub-par. I love corned beef hash, but the one at New Moon left a lot to be desired. It looked boiled (most hash I've had is grilled with a nice crispy 'crust' on it) and was sitting in about a 1/2 inch of liquid that tasted like butter flavored oil. Not good at all. They gave us breakfast potatoes (about 6 small pieces) that were not seasoned and tasted as though they'd been made ahead and reheated. We were disappointed to see that the Salted Carmel on the waffles came from a Hershey's squeeze bottle...not homemade or authentic at all. The food lacked creativity, and was bland. Our issues with this restaurant came entirely from the kitchen. If the back end of things were as creative, lively, and friendly as the front end, this restaurant would have lots...

Wow, just wow. Food was 3 stars. Rod Swanson burrito was SMOTHERED in sour cream and cheese, could barley taste any thing else. Home fries were so covered in salt that even my girlfriend said something about it. Her Rubin was fair, nothing amazing. And the cornbeef hash is about 5% cornbeef. On the positive side her bloody Mary was good she said, my mimosa on the other hand had lipstick all around the rim. Service was 1 star, we were there for almost an hour and our waitress came to the table 1 time after we got our food. She was much more preoccupied with her boyfriend and his friend. We waited for a while for a check and a box for the Rubin, then she walked by us and went to sit down with her BF and share his food. So as I sat there waiting for her she was chatting away with him. I had to first get up and go ask for a box. Then after another 5 minutes I had to get up and ask someone else for our check. When I went in the second time she was sitting on her phone behind the counter. She paid such little attention to our table that my girlfriend actually didn't realize she was our waitress. After being told to go eat here multiple times I don't quite know what people see, the experience was definitely ruined and we will not be returning. Will not recommend anyone go here, Palace diner is just across the river and a much better experience despite not having dine in. The tip...

We went yesterday around 10. It was fine. Luckily our server was friendly. My food was good, but my boyfriends pancakes were burnt and it was pretty evident the cook knew and decided to flip the burnt part over to hide it. The server didn’t check back until I was practically done my food. It also took 30 minutes to get it in the first place so he didn’t want to wait longer for the new pancakes that were offered since I was so close to being done. A table that had come in after us had been served food before us. Perhaps the cook forgot the pancakes and since it was taking awhile they decided to send them out and hope for the best. He ate one pancake that was slightly undercooked and didn’t touch the 2 others, I actually wound up having to share half my food because it took so long for the server to come back. They took half the pancakes off and no manager came over. I mean, we still paid partially for untouched food? If anything I heard someone in the background making excuses saying the cook makes them differently from some other cook. I mean, a burnt pancake is a burnt pancake. We really wanted to like it here because we live so close, but it was a just below average experience. Perhaps checking back a little sooner before it’s too late and not making excuses for burnt food. It wasn’t horrible, but we also...
