Well I certainly wasn't expecting this place to be as good as it was, but boy was it such a pleasant surprise! I came here with a coworker for lunch today, and we were both first-timers. She ordered The Classic and I ordered the Quinoa Veggie. She absolutely loved hers. Now before I get into describing how delicious my burger was, let me preface this by saying I'm not currently a vegan or vegetarian. I was for a little while though, so I do know what most vegan/vegetarian substitutes taste like and what to expect. All I can say is, WOW. For a veggie burger, it tastes ahh-maaazing. If you didn't know any better, you'd think it was a flaked chicken or fish patty. Excellent flavor and texture! As far as service goes, because we beat the lunch rush, our orders went right in and came right out. There were only three or four occupied tables when we walked in, but by the time we walked out, all of the tables were full and the line had extended out of the door! I can definitely see why now. I plan on coming back with my husband on a weekend, but hopefully it won't be so crazy busy then! 😓
Update 05/24/2019: I came back with my husband this afternoon. I had no issues with my order, however they didn't get his right. He asked for no onions and added bacon. They gave him a heaping pile of grilled onions and no bacon, though we still paid for it. They offered to correct things by getting him a new burger but he refused to send it back. They also brought out bacon for him but by then he had already eaten half of his burger and wasn't in the mood to pick apart his food for a second time. And to top off a $30 meal for two, his fries weren't freshly made as they claimed. The staff were great and I can't complain about how well they handled my upset husband, but what a shame about his food because that's the part that really matters to us all in the...
Read moreNear the basketball stadium, which looks like a flying saucer that crash-landed on K Street, is "Burger Lounge." It was listed as $$, so I decided to give one of their highly advertised burgers a try. The first thing I noticed was that, even though this is a stand-in-line joint, the hired hands expect big tips. Apparently, they are ignorant of the golden rule, which says "Tips are for table service." So, I ordered their "S.O. B" Burger, well-done, with french fries. I wanted a beer, but found that they had no nationally known beers, but only what I call "queer beer." So I had to settle for a 22 ounce glass of beer, which is the smallest size offered in order to charge you more for it. Like all the queer beers, mine smelled and tasted like turpentine. Unlike the pictures in their advertising, my burger, and all the burgers I saw, was of diminutive size, the meat had patches of red, uncooked hamburger, which is an absolute no-no with hamburger because it is loaded with germs, which must be killed by cooking. As for condiments, my burger had nothing but a thick layer of onions. For this, my bill came to $23. The furnishings are as spartan, and as cheap as...
Read moreWhen I heard a new burger spot, my toes are tingling and heart is pounding to try it soon. . So I got the classic burger with veggies on it of course, no fries. Just the burger it self was like 7 to 8 bucks. . So 30 mins for lunch, with that time limit I barely made it back on time. So the best bet during lunch time is order ahead so you can pick up and leave. . The burger was ok. I think I should have eaten it there then walking it back to enjoy it in my cubie. The bun doesn't seem to be toasted much more on the light side. The meat was medium thick. The burger was saucy and cheesy good. Just the down side is using ice beef lettuce, but I'm not that picky. . Overall I will come back for another try. I have my eyes on the chicken or fish burger to see if i like that better than the regular burger. Definitely this place is not the best burger i have had, but hey for convenience next to a theater, can't complain. Also i love how new spots are slowly popping into doco sac ;) keep up the...
