Because I really love yard house, I decided to try the Yard house downtown FOR MOTHERS day. It was my son's first time at the Yard house and it was my first time at the downtown Yard House. Went on mother's day and had a pretty bad experience. The waiter was a bald black man who was eas not friendly but acted me and my son were a bother. No matter how kind I was , he just seemed like he was being bothered. He never mentioned mother's day (I get that some may not know if you are a mother). He took our order BARELY came back to our table (maybe 2-3 times). And the 2nd or 3rd time that he came to our table, he told us that he would no longer be our waiter but another woman was going to take over. I was happy for the change, but the lady was not very attentive either. 😩Though she seemed a little more friendly she didn't engage with us like she did the other customers. When we were leaving, she did tell me to "enjoy your mothers day." After my son and I received our food we were bowing our heads and were praying for our food when one of the other black waiter's came over (darker skinned guy about 6'2, and his hair looked like it was in twists) with a drink. He didn't say excuse me but spoke loudly over our praying to interrupt our prayer and asked if the Lemon drop drink was for me!! 🤯 I mean, it shocked me not because he asked me if the alcoholic drink was mine, but because he was SO rude to interrupt us. I politely told him no, that the drink was not for me. He never apologized for interrupting us and just walked away. I guess I was surprised because I am a black American woman and I felt like I was getting the worst service from people of my own ethnicity. 🤯 I do realize that the wait staff get super busy because they sometimes have multiple tables to attend to, but I watched these 2 waiters for our table and they were thoroughly engaged with other people, but yet never really engaged with my son and I. The atmosphere was sort of club like. The music was a bit loud and it was so dark in the restaurant that we couldn't read the hand held menus that were given to us. After struggling to read the menu, and AFTER giving our order to the male waiter, when I asked him to cancel the Onion rings if they are fried in the same oil as the fish (Im allergic to fish), He flippantly said okay and then he told me that there's also the menu on the actual table top monitor if I wanted to order somwthing else. We didn't realize that that device was also a menu. I've been too many yard houses and unfortunately, this downtown Sac one was YIKES. We were SO uncomfortable that we ate and left QUICK! **On a positive note, the food was delicious, the ladies who brought our food were AWESOME and MOST of the front desk staff were really nice. We still gave a 20% tip (my son wanted to because he paid), but it was a very unpleasant experience for me/us on Mother's Day and that's the reason why most of my review...
Read moreMy experience was horrible. Our waitress her name was Kathleen or started with a K and from what I’m being told she is a breaker. Basically, she gives a servers breaks. She was very, very rude. The only thing she did was take our order never brought our drinks never gave us refills, she was too busy catering to the table behind us and two adults and 6 kids maybe because they’re complexion was very fair skin they receive top tier service we never received plates for appetizers nor napkins. Utensils were dirty once we did receive the appetizer plates. Those were dirty and wet as well. We had to ask other waiters passing by for drinks every time I raised my hand for her, she would just put her nose up , she did not care. She was just there to say she did her job and she did not. In the past server Josue very pleasant ! I’ve never seen a lazy server like I did today in my life. She did very little walk and she stayed in one area. The drink station was on the other side of the restaurant so I highly believe the walk was too far for her or we possibly was not good enough for her time. We sat at our table for 20 mins with no condiments for appetizers ordered about four appetizers only received two of them ( I understand she can not control what comes out kitchen )?and she was upset once we told her we did not want the other two cause the food was already arriving. I cannot stress it enough She was with the table behind us possibly because they were Caucasian and we were a minority group I couldn’t help to hear her whole conversation to her child’s little league accomplishments to her child getting into a good kindergarten because of the district she worked in or lived in. All I have to say is if you’re a person of color if you do not have blonde hair and blue eyes, this location is not for you and it’s very sad because I learned to about Yard House from my visit to Hawaii and to my surprise, we had one in our backyard here in Sacramento. I traveled 45 minutes to Sacramento just to be mistreated charge for items I never received and I don’t feel management cared when I told them they were just too busy I would not return. My overall experience was horrible. It’s OK that she didn’t make small. Talk with us, because obviously we didn’t have nothing in common to her beliefs (my brother plays professional baseball mlb BTW) , but what was not OK was the service and the food I asked the manager to close out my tab before I can start the complaint because they automatically assumes people of color wants something for free my exact words to him Were Please close me out. I want nothing for free. I would just like to give you feedback on the service I received today. He then turned around and took $10 off my bill which I thought was extremely disrespectful because evidently he thinks I was dying over $10 now I know next time pay my bill and...

Came in for some grub and drinks before the PBR event in the golden one center. Very good food and drink, and an amazing location.
We had a 15 minute wait @ 6:30pm for a party of 8. We were quoted an hour wait for inside, so we opted for outside as there were heaters and the event was beginning in an hour and 15.
A few negatives:
Sadly we were given the only table in their outside seating area without a heater. Was a very cold night.. Service was okay. Seemed like they were a bit overwhelmed at many times.
Most food items had great presentation, but a few items had awful presentation. No finished glasses or plates were removed from our table during the stay. Not a huge deal to us, but it describes the service fairly well. They had begun using plastic cups after (server mentioned) they had ran out of glasses - and it seems like bussing tables could fix that issue. We had also ordered ranch with our food and it arrived 15 minutes afterwards and we were finished eating at this time.
Eric was our server for the evening. He was funny and helpful, but again seemed overwhelmed. Not on the server, but rather the restaurant for not supplying more staff on busy event nights.
Food took about 25 minutes from time of order, and drinks took about 15-20 from time of order.
Giant Bavarian pretzel 4.5/5
Ahi nachos 5/5
Guava ace 5/5
Pineapple Express 5/5
Watermelon margarita 4/5
Nashville hot chicken sandwich and onion rings 3.5/5 (bad presentation, and had a strange almost bbq-like sweetness to the sauce)
Firecracker shrimp 4.4/5
Pepper Jack burger 4.25/5 (bad presentation, good taste though!)
$372.52 for a party of 8, $46.56 a person avg. before tip.
Very challenging review to make as there were so many factors to consider. I feel that we should return on a non event night to see how the food, drink, and service varies from this first trip. For now a 4⭐️, but we foresee a possible 5⭐️ in the future.
