First off, its kind of neat that these boba shops are popping in Sacramento. Coming from the Bay area and having drank alot of boba in LA, sometimes you just want a good Taro Milk Tea or a Strawberry-Peach snow with Rainbow jelly. With that being said, this place is alright. Theres a few reasons I'm giving it a 3 for just being "alright." There isn't a shortage of boba shops in Sacramento/Sacramento area, they are pretty much everywhere, but there is a shortage of GOOD boba shops. The lackluster of good shops seems to be an issue in this area. Some places have pretty bland drinks, low quality boba, okay snacks, and even some non-inviting decor. Like a good restaurant, its a package deal. Raretea had good decor, there wasn't loud music, menu was pretty easy to follow and the staff, over-all, was really nice. I ordered the "Taro Smoothie with Egg Pudding." The taste of the Taro was meh, maybe I should've made the sweetness a little sweeter, but the taste regardless was meh. The egg pudding wasn't all that great, being somewhat bland but with a lingering taste of maybe some jasmine? It had a "rosey" taste and I could only assume it was jasmine tea. Overall, its an okay spot. Willing to give it another shot as it seems people...
Read moreThe entire mall is on 414 K St. so don’t rely on that for address. It’s located on the 2nd floor (Suite 225) hidden-ish so if you don’t find it at first don’t give up. Go up the escalators to the top floor and you’ll find it eventually. I remember there being a Panda Express close by so if you see that you’re so close!
Quick turnaround, we were in and out of there as a group within 15 mins from ordering to getting the drinks. There were 9 of us with 7 drinks.
The drink was delicious and the boba was well made. The Boba doesn’t taste like the fake artificial kind you get from most boba places. It’s supposed to be soft on the outside and chewy/ almost hard-ish on the inside. That’s the texture you should be looking for. If it’s overall plastic-ky or too soft, dump it. Don’t even attempt to finish, it’s fake and cancerous.
Enjoy!
I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area...
Read moreI came here as part of a Yelp Elite event.
Before I even came I looked on yelp to see their menu and the different drinks they offer.
Since they are at the doco downtown...you have to pay for parking. There is not much street parking right there...so I parked in the garage under the building. It cost 4.00 an hour.
They are located upstairs by the poke place.
I ordered the strawberry milk tea with boba and my daughter ordered the matcha green tea with brown sugar boba.
That strawberry drink was absolutely wonderful. Oh my it was so fresh and flavorful. I loved the boba also.
The green tea was very good too. If you like matcha you will like this. It cost $6.30 with tax. The size is a pretty good size.
If you like boba drinks...you will certainly like this place. They have an extended menu...something...
