The pictures on the menu are deceptive and it appears the employees aren't to worried about the customers or thier repeat business. The place was not crowded nor was there a line of customers waiting to be served. The sales person would not/ did not listen to what we were ordering, but rather kept repeating what she was promoting. I asked about two burritos listed on the menu (one of which had avocados) that I wanted to order. but after repeatedly stating my request and not being heard I settled with only one of the burritos with the addition of avocado. On the menu the burrito with the avocado shows three slices of avocado placed next to each other and slightly overlapping which clearly covers the entire burrito. Implying that the slices of avocado were quite large. At least large enough to fill the burrito with only three pieces there by implying that there would be avocado with every bite. Yet, when I requested the addition of avocado, her response was ... "how many slices?"... What?... I don't know...How many do I need? Well, enough to be able to at least taste it of course... Having never eaten anything there with nor have I ever requested the addition of Avocado at Del Taco and having no other reference to the size of the avocado slices, except that of the Del Taco attendee (which offered NO!!! help) and that of the picture on the menu, I truly didn't know how many slices were needed to make a satisfactory answer. So, being that the only reference I actually had was the picture on the menu which showed that three pieces were enough to fill an entire burrito.I requested two slices. Because the attendee knew more than I by the way she questionly repeated my answer and, since she is taking my order she obviously works there. She should know what their ingredients are and what they look like. She should have questioned my request knowing that these pieces were soooo... small that when they were placed side by side (as they were) that with only one bite the avocado would be gone leaving the rest (over three fourths) of the burrito with out. I feel she should have at least mentioned something to me. Well thinking about it, I really should not have expected better service because not only was there a lack of communication, there was also a lack of quality, quantity and service. The rest of the order wasn't any better. The shrimp tacos were cold and the tortillas were not cooked. The separate order of shrimp only had four pieces of small shrimp. What happened to the rest of the order? What we received was not what the menu displayed nor what we requested. I know I haven't been to a Del Taco in quite some time, but I do remember not only did I enjoy eating there, but they also had great customer service. Now, I no longer feel this way. I'm very disappointed in the quality and portion size of the food we purchased and the lack of customer service. I really could not (in good faith) recommend this store to anyone. I feel I was short changed and cheated. This makes me wonder if that was why there wasn't a line of customers waiting to...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER! New menu was very appealing and the serving staff friendly. Food not bad for $ value but hospitality was terrible. It was cold in the dining area and so I had decided to eat in my car. Besides I was on the phone with a friend when half way through my meal the “security guard “ scared me to death by knocking on my car window telling me I had to leave. Supposedly I had been there too long, I stated I would when I was done eating and he said I would have to take it up with management. So I rushed through the remainder of my meal and decided to go into the lobby to ask if they really had asked me to leave. There were no notices anywhere stating a time limit. After speaking with a male identifying himself as manager. I was told there was a policy of 1/2 hour and he was not certain it was posted. I asked if I had done anything wrong and he said no and he would speak with security guard. This was bizarre. Security guard went to his car and turned it so headlamps shone directly on me. A little while later the manager knocked at my window also startling me and said I needed to leave. I’m blown away because I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I decided to leave and just park out on the street to complete my dinner. However again a loud rap at my window with a blinding light this time. To my chagrin it is a police officer who asks me if there is a problem. It had been reported to him that I had yelled, argued and tried to run the security guard over with my car and he wanted a no trespassing........something or other to be given to me. I am actually horrified that such a blatant lie could be told and acted on. I now felt harassed by this experience. The officer ran my license and returned back to me telling me he found no basis for the false accusation and erroneous request by the security guard to do a no trespassing citation. He did suggest I vacate the area because it appeared the security guard was hell bent to use his power to create trouble.. NEVER NEVER NEVER should such a person be given the position he had because he is a blatant liar and manipulator. He is VERY N PROFESSIONAL. Therefore what would have been a positive experience for me was completely destroyed by one EGOTISTICAL individual. Please pray this person develops in the area of Truth! DO NOT GO YOBTHIS DEL TACO which I noticed only had reviews rating it 2.5 stars out of...
Read more(original review below)... Well I hate to say but this problem has not gotten much better. Although I have boiled it down to where I am very convinced the problem is coming from and the root cause responsible for this very disappointing, frustrating, and upsetting location of what would otherwise be one of my favorite and moat frequently visited places to eat and be. In fact, I haven't been to Del Taco at ALL for quite a while now and it saddens me that one of my go to life lines (when I'm busy stressed how hungry and on a pinched budget), hasn't been an option for me to fuel myself to get through a busy day!! But back to what's responsible for all the poor service, bad attitudes, improper portions, and again, really bad service leading to a poor atmosphere and upset disgruntled customers, in what happened and otherwise one of the best parts of town!!! THIS PLACE HAS THE WORST MANAGEMENT!!! Which as anyone knows, affects every other aspect of the business, poorly trained and unprofessional employees, lack of discipline, no enforcement of policies, lazy staff, confusion, no sense of order, sloppy behavior and technique ruining the out me of the food and atmosphere, and very poorly handled situations when good leadership, discipline, policies, good attitude, and food customer service are really called for to turn around an upset customer or correct a bad situation. As well as doing anything to handle the disturbance from some of the riff raff that prowls the parking lot pushes their way into your face and bothers you repeatedly and makes a mess to where it's littered and it smells. Now as someone who was formerly homeless at one time the problem isn't homeless people as a whole but those who are dirty disgusting RUDE and are oblivious to how to conduct themselves in public and aren't even aware of their surroundings, let alone the disruption they are causing and some of them are so drugged up and tweeking so hard they don't CARE what they do or what people think or the problems they cause, but as far as this restaurant it's unbelievable sometimes that nothing is done to maintain a clean healthy and pleasant environment.
(ORIGINAL: I've had a lot of problems at this one from screwing up my order, to poorly made and really small portions...... Unusual for this area really but I've left here frustrated and unhappy...
