If your motto is “go big or go home,” then Con Azúcar Café is calling your name, loud and sweet.

Literally—“con azúcar” means “with sugar,” and they are not playing around.

This place is Instagram bait in the best way: think bright colors, custom murals, giant fake trees, and a literal rope swing that screams “take a selfie!”

Imagine if Coco the movie and a lifestyle blogger collabed on a café — that’s the vibe. Cultural, chaotic, and camera-ready.

As for the food?

Let’s just say the phone eats first and will probably have diabetes afterwards. From massive rainbow conchas to coffee mugs so big they double as bath tubs, everything here is made for your grid and your sweet tooth.

Flavor-wise?

It’s giving State Fair realness — over-the-top, indulgent, and proudly thumbing its nose at your “no sugar, no dairy” lifestyle. You’re not coming here for nuance; you’re coming here for vibes.

⚠️ But heads up: these treats come with a price tag. Some items push $40+, and no, you don’t get to keep the mug (tragic, I know).

On the bright side, the staff is sweet (like, actually sweet—not just the drinks).

Expect a wait, especially on weekends.

Want to skip the chaos? Hit it up on a weekday morning — the sugar hits just as hard, and the line is way shorter.

How I break down my ⭐️ reviews: 1 - No. Not if it was the last thing on DoorDash. 🗑️ 2 - Meh. Maybe if I’m desperate, close, and high. 😬 3 - Mid. Not texting the group chat about it. 🤷‍♀️ 4 - Hella solid. Planning my next visit. 😋 5 - Shut up and take my money....

🌿 Con Azúcar Café — A Hidden Family-Friendly Gem in the City

We stopped by with our family to enjoy some coffee and a sweet pastry — and we were pleasantly surprised! ☕️🥐

🏡 Atmosphere & Space

This place is absolutely lovely — cozy, green, and full of charm. It’s perfect for families: they even have little chairs for kids, which is such a thoughtful touch. What really sets this café apart is its spacious layout. Even though it’s in the city, it feels like a peaceful garden. You can sit under a tree, relax on a swing, or choose a quiet corner for a cozy chat. 🌳✨

🍩 Drinks & Pastries

We had a warm, flavorful coffee and a soft, delicious pastry. Everything tasted fresh and comforting — perfect for a relaxed morning or afternoon treat. Service was quick and friendly, too!

🌟 Highlights & Photo Spots

There’s a beautiful green swing that’s not just fun but also Instagram-worthy! The greenery and natural elements make it feel peaceful and refreshing. It’s one of those places where you instantly feel at home — and inspired.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for: • Families with little ones 👶 • Coffee with friends ☕️ • Light lunches and relaxing breaks 🍽️ • Peaceful solo time or casual meetups 💬

We left with a smile and will definitely be back. The atmosphere, thoughtful design, and overall vibe make this place a must-visit. Highly...

I stopped by during opening weekend and the line was carzy, I was told it would be about 1 hr or so to go in so I left. I came back a few weeks after and although there was a wait time, it wasn't that bad. The place is cute, colorful with cute details. They do not valite parking which to me is not good considering how pricy their items are. I mean $40 for the gigante concha?. I wanted café de la olla hot and was told early that morning that they didnt have any as the person who makes it was not in 🤔. I ordered the café the olla en las rocas which was the only good one. I got the Macha horchata and was a NO. I got a brown sugar espresso, not my fav. A hot latte that wasn't the best either. The food was decent but not the best. The avocado toast was overwhelming with the amount of avocado. If I am around the area, I may go back for the ice café de la olla but I will definitely not make an effort to go. I know I can get better drinks and food at other places with decent prices and without paying...

We went on a Saturday between breakfast and lunch, not a busy time. Café de olla was ok (I've definitely had better), the concha grande was dry and tasted old (not freshly baked AT ALL), and the customer service was horrible! The gals at the register were sweet, but they didn't know the menu. The other staff were so rude to me when I asked for my food after waiting for over 30 minutes and everyone after me getting their food. All I ordered was a simple grilled cheese sandwich mostly bread (sad face) little bit of cheese. The menu is weird for the theme of the restaurant. Why would you have avocado toast (from Australia ) and matcha (from China) on a mexican themed menu? Parking structure is on the other side of the mall and they don't validate parking. Street parking is limited. Motorcycle parking is an option. The atmosphere was cute, but not sure they've dusted since the day they opened.

The drinks were alright. Probably the highlight of the menu. Inquired about their matcha—they use culinary over a higher quality ceremonial grade. The bread was soft but caked— not airy and fluffy. Their food (tortas and sandwiches) was overpriced. They don’t validate DOCO parking as of their inauguration. If you want to spend an hour + in line for an experience — to take pictures in the space that’s been hyped by influencers on socials, this is the place for you. Otherwise, there are higher quality drinks and a better dining experience at another Latinx coffee shop a few blocks down the road. Customer service was also mid. Update: We’re all about doing our due diligence— stopped by again paid $8.66 for a 16 oz horchata matcha latte with a 15% tip. It was good. Not too sweet. Weekday mornings are quieter and a visit is more manageable. No changes to my three star review.
