i have visited this cafe twice in the past week with my girlfriend. the first time was a very enjoyable experience, it did take a while for our drinks to come out but that seemed to be because they were understaffed. we decided to return yesterday because we enjoyed our coffee and food and goodside is walking distance from our home. we walked in and were greeted with a scowl from a man who i have since learned is the owner. my girlfriend and i are nice and order our drinks and my girlfriend asks to add a syrup to their drink. the owner pulls a face uglier than the one already sitting there, so my girlfriend, kind as they are, says “its really good! it tastes like pie!!” the owner pulls another ugly face and says “im sorry there is no way that tastes good” this obviously hurt my girlfriends feelings, and we had to sit outside because the comment made them cry. you never know what someone is going through, we have had several deaths of family members in the past few months. after i went inside to collect my drinks, the owner was pouring the shots as slowly as he could into our drinks and then stopped in the middle of the floor to talk to a guest while holding my drinks. he could see that i was frustrated and instead of trying to amend the situation, he tried to make me more frustrated. this is not how customers should be treated. as a service worker, i should have known immediately that this cockalorum was the owner, because if an employee were to act this way, they wouldnt be an employee anymore. the employees seem very nice. the only reason this business is failing is because of the owner. point blank. because of our experience, my girlfriend and i will not...
Read moreMe and a friend came in to join my friends who were studying at this coffee shop. The moment we walked into the entrance, the owner was giving us a nasty look. I only sat down for maybe 2 minutes before we were urged to leave because "it was rude that such a large group of us only ordered one thing". There were 6 of us total, all sitting at one table. Me and my friend didn't even get the chance to order anything. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. Will not be coming back nor recommending this place to anyone if this is how they treat their customers.
Update: To clarify, one of my friends was a PAYING customer. If we had ample time to order (as to the owner's response below), then you are contradictory as you stated "after a few minutes" you let us know about your nonexistent policy, which you stated was "necessary given the large party" and "amount of space" we were taking up. However, this is false as we were sitting around one table in the corner while almost every other table in this establishment was open and available for customers. Had the owner came up to us and was polite and mentioned the policy, we would have been more than accommodating. From my "entitled" opinion, being kind keeps people coming back which is the reason that small businesses stay...
Read moreMy friends and I decided to spontaneously meet here for a place to work and enjoy some coffee. Because we had a larger group, we needed more chairs so we decided to grab a stool from another area… the owner quickly came over & asked us to use a different chair. Since the stools specifically needed to stay in that area (even though they weren’t being used). Okay, I get that. Whatever, it’s your place. But, he was unkind about it & seemed more annoyed. As more friends arrive, they needed to use the restroom. But, he made it very clear you had to buy something in order to use the restroom (even though a few of us had already bought something). He was VERY rude about it and stared us DOWN, making sure no one even dared to try to use the restroom if that specific individual didn’t buy anything. The whole vibe was highly uncomfortable and he made us feel very unwelcomed. I honestly was shocked at how he treated us as a business owner. Maybe he absolutely hates large groups coming in, but you don’t have to be nasty about it. My friends and I will definitely not be returning nor recommending this establishment. Since there are a ton more very friendly coffee...
