I love this Jack's for many many reasons, Location, staff, quality of food + service. Today around 11:40am my coworker and I decided to visit this location on our lunch break since the office is only a 5 min drive. I ordered a tri-tip sandwich, garlic fries and seasoned veggies. Everything was great! Presentation, quality and the staff were awesome. Unfortunately, I got back to my office and the meat on the sandwich was cold + undercooked for my liking. Everything else was warm because they toasted the bun on the grill. I tried calling a few times, however no answer. I enjoy Jack's and the food, so it felt wrong to toss my food away without letting someone know. So, I got off work an hour after that, drove back to Jack's and let the staff know.. the young man that was working the register recognized me and immediately asked if my order was messed up? I said no, not exactly. Everything was great however, I did care for the cold Tri-tip. I didnt want a refund, I didnt want anything for free but the girl that was helping said she could make it over. Mind you, I just ate all those fries and seasoned veggies.. all I was hoping for is maybe a card that said "re make for another day" with my name on it or something but instead I got a whole lot of attitude. I was told the reason my tri-tip was cold was because I took it home and then brought it back. I explained my office is 5 minutes from here and there no way it could. She then went to what I'm guessing is her supervisor and asked what we could do. She came back and explained "they dont do gift certificates, here's my refund, and next time I should ask for the tri- tip grilled because they cut it right off the meat.." so it's not because I took it home now?? 🤔 SUGGESTION: when they take the order they could ask their customers if theyd like it grilled or not. I also tried to let her know I called twice. Once at 1146 and again at 12:06.. when I told her that she nonchalantly said, " yeah we dont have a phone bc it would be way chaotic" Oh. Ok. So how do your customers get in contact with you about a mistake or concern without driving back in and not feel like they've totally inconvenienced the staffs day..? I not only work for the state but I am a server and have been a server for over 5 years. Things like this happen more often than not. If that girl is a manager, my only suggestion to you is remove the stereotype that everyone wants something for free. Some people just need to be heard and their food that they paid for fixed or accommodated.. better luck next...
Read moreTheir food and prices are good, the service is usually quick. I had an unfortunate recent event happen with a busboy at this location. I was with my wife and friend having lunch, and after we finished eating, what I thought was showing a nice gesture, I took our dishes inside and placed them on a dirty table. A bus boy clearing dishes from another dirty table inside came over and aggressively and arrogantly said don't put those there. I said would you clear them for me, and went back outside to join my group. The bus boy actually came out and started scolding me in front of my group, we were absolutely shocked! I said to him that he was being very disrespectful, his reply was lengthy, arrogant, and obnoxious. I asked him to apologize, he didn't. I told him that he was being a very disrespectful person, and if that is how I am going to be treated, I will eat at other establishments when visiting downtown. We were absolutely shocked at the rudeness, arrogance, and obnoxious treatment demonstrated by this bus boy. Jacks Urban Eats has good food, the prices are good, and most of the staff is usually friendly and welcoming when I have eaten at this location. They may want to train/retrain their employees on the importance of customer service, customer retention, and professionalism if they want to keep their customers returning. Having eaten at this establishment several times over the years, my wife and I agree that the customer service and friendly atmosphere has declined significantly at this location, it seems to me like they have an entitlement mentality now, we as customers owe them to have the privilege of dining in this restaurant. This change in staff attitude is definitely new. Unlike the Elk Grove location which is always packed, at the 20th street location, there are plenty of empty tables both inside and outside for you to...
Read moreI've been going to Jack's for years and this is the first time I've ever had a terrible experience. Went in this past Saturday around 3:30 PM for a late lunch. I got a salad and family sized urban fries to split with my friend.
First off, let me just say, Saturday's staff needs to take the stick out of their @$$ and just be happy they're employed. I don't know what it is, but, some of them just didn't want to be working on a Saturday afternoon and it was definitely reflected in their attitude. If you don't want to work on a Saturday, then quit your job and let someone else who really wants a paycheck to take your place.
Secondly, I don't know if they changed the sizing of their fries, but the family sized urban fries were the same size of a small urban fries. The only difference was the size of the plate they put them on. I've had family sized urban fries that were so big, two people couldn't even finish them, but this time, it was definitely lacking. When we brought them up to the counter and told them that we had ordered a family size, the blonde employee working their said "that is our family size". We replied, this is definitely not a family size, it's a lot smaller than it used to be. Her reply "that's our family size." Okay, I've been eating here for years. I have 15 "check-ins" although I've been here more than that. I've ordered urban fries pretty much every time I come here. Don't you think I would know what I'm talking about when I say this isn't a family size. Rule one of Customer Service: THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!
Jack's Urban Eats, you've disappointed me. Although I love your food, your not very cheap eats and poor customer service has left me to take my business elsewhere for...
