The Sandwich Spot — Restaurant in Sacramento

My wife and I are visiting for my birthday and we wanted a good sandwhich. We hunt out sanswich shops around the country, read the reviews here and decided to give it a try. The menu was big, and a little too big for a first timer so I just went to the counter and said what is the best toasted roast beef and chedder. The gentleman smiled and said "This is the Best". #20, The Rawhide. A roast beef and cheddar with bacon a BBQ sauce and the bomb sauce. I chose the Sweet Roll. The gentleman recommended not to get mustard on this. I agreed. The sandwich came...I bit in, and WOW. This is one of the best sandwhiches I have ever had. The savory meat, the crundh of the sweet roll, the bomb sauce running down my hands, the balance of all of the indgrediants made this into a "Experience". It is rare when a food can get this good. My wife got the hot pastrami and swiss cheese and was equally impressed. Then to top it off, the music they were playing even elevated the atmosphere. Big fan of these sandos! I haven’t been to any of the other locations, but this one is tucked nicely in Midtown Sacramento. They offer Gluten Free bread, which is why I keep going back!

It’s not always consistent when I go though. Sometimes they warm the bread but other times they won’t. They will do it if I ask but it’s not standard practice one way or the other it seems. It also gets very busy at lunch time so the ordering and paying process is a little clunky if you have never been. I could have walked out with my sandwich without paying (I waited a long time to pay after I got my food). But don’t let any of this deter you, the food...

We love this place when we are in Midtown for lunch. The people work very hard to serve their customers. It is a busy place, so order ahead of time if possible. It is also helpful to know that the line on the right is for ordering there. The line or place near the cash register is for picking up all orders (both online and in the restaurant) and paying for them. We love their food (fresh ingredients with lots of options) and the joyful way they serve even when it gets crazy.
