Pizzeria Limone — Restaurant in Saint George

If you can hold your breath long enough to get from your car to the middle of the restaurant you can avoid the horrific sewer stretch. If I smell too much of that then my appetite is gone. Food was probably 4 stars. But the experience deserves 1 star. Every time we pass through town we stop and eat here but today will be the last. I totally 100% understand the shortage of employees. I am patient because I work in the service industry. But nothing should entitle an employee to treat patrons with poor customer service and treat them rudely. We stopped in for a late lunch around 2pm. I felt like our party of 3 was just as kind and polite as possible. We waited to order and the one lady working the front acknowledged us after a few minutes. There were maybe 3 other parties dining and no one else in line. She seemed stressed and put out by us being there. After we gave her our order, two other small parties of 2 showed up. We continued to wait patiently and with understanding at the register to pay. We expressed thanks for handling our orders. Finally the lady working, called to the back for some help and a young lady appeared. 2/3 of our order arrived and we waited another 5 minutes for a salad that didn’t include the chicken we ordered and paid for. When I went up to ask about it the young lady was incredibly rude. She threw 3 strips of cold rubbery chicken in a small cup and handed it to me. No apology. Just very defensive. As I was waiting I listened to her complain to a friend how she couldn’t wait to go home in an hour. The last 4 times we have been there, our orders have been incredibly slow and brought out with a wide spread. Again, I understand employees are difficult to find. But now they don’t have to worry about serving us anymore. Our experience with the two girls working today and their attitudes toward us helped us make our decision. We have been looking for a good pizza place, so we gave it a try after my husbands work had ordered from here and I recently visited the Pizzeria Limone in South Jordan where I enjoyed great salads and pizza with girlfriends for lunch. It was so good I was excited to hear we have on here in St George. I love that you can create your own pizzas with fresh abundance and appreciated how friendly and helpful the employees were. My husband picked a pizza from what he could see from the large display screen, and was a little disappointed when it arrived at our table when it didn’t match its screen presentation. He loved the salad! The berry lemonade was super strong and sweet, so next time we will get a cup of ice water to water it down. I loved my own creation with the wonderful pistachio pesto sauce topped with sausage, cheeses, artichoke hearts, and topped with fresh basil ( I added the Kalamata olives too but they were too strong a flavor— I won’t add that next time) and will order that combination next time, and try adding the fresh basil after it’s cooked so it’s not dried out. I think that’s how my first pizza in the South Jordan store did it, because the topped basil was warmed not too crispy. It’s sooo good. My husband loved my pizza better than what he ordered, the Verdure, but he still loved the food and the atmosphere. We will absolutely return and probably order for take out. Wish we could get larger size pizza and that black olives could be an option. True Italian style pizza in Italy is more generous in every way. This was our first experience with this restaurant. We waited in line for 30 minutes. When we got to the front they had told the lady in front of us they were out of sliced tomatoes. We had ordered three pizzas and two crostas, but they said they were out of the cheese to make the crostas and they were also out of pepperoni and sausage. We went to check out and they told us they were out of ice for their drinks. My husband went to wash his hands and they were out of paper towels in the bathroom. Turns out they were out of napkins and had brought the roll of paper towels out. I went to get a straw and they were out of straws. All would’ve been understandable as we were there within the hour of closing, but some of the staff were less than friendly about the situation and showed no skill in customer service. A gentleman went to tell a staff member that the trash was overflowing and she had attitude with him as well. It felt as though we were inconveniencing them. There were still at least 10 people behind us and had I’d known they were going to be out of everything I wouldn’t have wasted my time sitting in line and gone somewhere else. The pizza itself was great and I’m sure we just caught them on a bad night, hence why I’m giving them two stars instead of one. Hopefully they’ll be more prepared...
