Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen — Restaurant in Saint Joseph

I am a server and just visited on our way back to Omaha with my two girlfriends who are also servers. We were greeted by a friendly and organized host stand who got us seated promptly. Our server appeared rushed at first and short with us but the restaurant appeared busy so we at first understood. When 25 minutes had gone by after our order had been placed with the server without my friend's salad or our croissants, we had to stop our server and ask about the salad. The salad was then brought out and we were informed that they had run out of croissants. We also had to wait for 15 minutes for a refill on a drink from the bar (the bartender did do a good job as the drinks did taste good). We also had to ask for a refill on a diet coke after my friend's diet coke sat empty for approximately 10 minutes. The restaurant had started to empty out and our food did not arrive for approximately 45 minutes after we ordered. We also ordered a dessert when the dinner arrived and asked for our bill. When the server brought the bill there was no dessert on the bill. We did not care at that point as we had to get going, heading home to Omaha and it was already later then we had intended. Our server appeared inattentive, our drink refills had to be requested, and our food took too long to come and we received no explanations or apology from our server. Also the manager stopped by the table and offered no apology, did not ask how our meal had gone, and appeared not to care how our experience was. I was very disappointed with our experience and based upon it would not reccomend going to this location. The location in Omaha had always taken care of us and we have never had these...

Great service and food. We went before 4 p.m. to beat a rush and only had a 15 minute wait due to COVID regulations. We ordered the cheese curds for the appetizer. The bredding was awesome and ranch was Dinomite! You get complementary honey butter crescents but if you want more. It's only 1.75 for 2. We ordered the steak n' ribs combo. Steak was cooked perfect and ribs fell off the bone! Loaded Baked Potatoe and Green beans with that dish was good as well. We also ordered Chicken tenders and coconut shrimp combo with broccoli cheese cassarole and french fries. The chicken tenders were breaded good and juicy, the coconut shrimp was the bomb! It had a spicy sweet sauced served with it as well. Very yummy! The broccoli cheese rice Cassarole tasted just like my Grandma's recipe. Amazing!! The fries could have been better. They were not pipping hot and it was the end of the bag leftover small bits. Lol. Which just happens sometime but wished they were all big and crispy. The only other thing that could have been better was the mug that my man's beer came in... Was not frozen and not fresh. The head (suds) on the beer was gone already as it came to the table and the beer tasted flat... Every beer should always have a frozen mug 💞 Also. The bus boy had to re-wipe our seat due to food on the booth. He didn't seem to fond of doing it again but he did it anyway. Our server was very nice, kept our table clear of plates and made sure we got what we needed. Please tip more than normal if a job well done. Which we did. We will...

They had made reservations for a party of six adults and four children. We got there at six like they said and waited till seven then they came over after we asked what was going on. They said the server was cleaning off an area for us. All we waited another 15 minutes. We then again asked for the manager after discussing the issue he took us back walking through all the people and was separating our tables and we said no we want to at least sit all close together. So The manager took us back to the front of the waiting area and said it was gonna take even longer. Wasted there and watched people come in after we did and left before anything could be done with us. Why they couldn’t put two or even three tables together side-by-side is beyond me. This has happened a few times now this time I’m beyond fed up with this. It’s sad because their food is amazing. I cannot justify me going back again. Why even bother making a Why even bother making a reservation early in the day just to find out you can’t get in.And what’s even funnier we went to Olive Garden right next-door.
