This was the worst birthday meal I've ever had. I decided to go here for lunch because a co-worker suggested it. The atmosphere was horrible, the service was horrible, and the food wasn't all that great. We didn't feel very welcomed, nobody said much to us except our waitress, it was almost like we didn't exist. After we got our drinks, the waitress didn't come back for about 15-20 minutes. It took about another 20 minutes to get our food, and they weren't very busy when we first got there. The waitress was not attentive, she barely checked on us to see if we needed anything, and if we did ask for anything it would take her 5-10 minutes to bring it back, if she did. My husband asked for mayonnaise for his burger and she never brought it, we had to ask another waitress. It even took her 5-10 minutes to bring napkins that I asked for. She took her time, instead going to pick up dishes from another table, and who knows what else before she brought us 2 napkins. When we were done eating she was nowhere to be found, so we asked someone else for a carry out container. We waited and waited for her to come back so we can ask for our bill, which is crazy because she was looking at us when the other guy brought us the carry out. It took her so long that I decided to go bring our car up while my husband waited for the bill. I walked out the door with food and all. If we weren't honest people we could've walked out of there without paying because they were not paying attention to us. After bringing up the car, it was still about another 5 minutes before my husband got the bill. Oh and the waitress sent a free slice of cake for my birthday by another waitress, as my husband was leaving but I could've cared less about a piece of cake after the horrible treatment we received. I just wanted to get out of there. Also there was a man out of uniform in a pink polo helping out at other tables: bringing food, drinks, etc except ours. I don't know if he was a host, manager or owner but he never said hello, smiled or anything. Only thing he did was bring us a carry out container when we asked him. This was the absolute worst service (or lack there of) I've ever had. I would never suggest anyone go here. I would much rather...

I came in for dinner on a very cold Tuesday afternoon. There were only a few diners sitting at tables but the bar scene was hopping. I was seated right away by a very pleasant hostess. The waitress appeared almost instantly and took my appetizer and drink order. Drink service was prompt and the Caprese salad was very tasty. The vegetables were fresh and the cheese was just the right temperature. I ordered the Baja Tacos after consulting with the waitress. They arrived just as the appetizer ran out. The tacos were delicious, with pickled jalapenos, sour cream, and salsa on the side. I received three generously filled tacos, in fact I had a difficult time finishing them they were so filled with tilapia, cheese, and fresh vegetables. The waitress stopped at the table at regular, but not intrusive, intervals to check on me. I finished the meal with a drink from the bar, brought to the table promptly, and in the correct glass, as ordered. Overall a very good experience. This is my fourth of fifth visit here and they have yet to disappoint.

As an aside, the waiter taking care of the couple in the booth behind me, did an absolute excellent job of explaining the menu, dishes, and special drinks them. He was very helpful and the couple had very nice things to say about him after he had finished taking...

First I want to say, thank you. I was given a broken chair that ripped my pants, and the manager was apologetic and gave us a 30% discount. Our waitress was also very sweet. But I will say, this use to be our fave place to visit in st Joe, and we were very disappointed in the food this time. The lobster Mac and cheese was inedible, and tasted like all it was is velveeta cheese. It even turned to rubber as it cooled also I’m pretty sure it was imitation lobster.. And my mother’s chicken Marsala tasted like a microwave dinner. Not sure if the chef has changed in the past year or two, but other than the service and beautiful outdoor atmosphere I can not recommend this restaurant anymore which makes me very sad. 😢 I would recommend at least giving a better discription of the Mac and cheese so your customers know what they are getting. Also, last time (a year ago) we were there we ordered the fried calamari Gluten free, thinking we would get a delicious gluten free breaded/fried app, only to Be served naked, rubbery, unseasoned squid. So your servers should make sure customers understand what they are getting with gluten free options as well. Also the cherry marg was great! I may return for a drink and sunset, but not sure it’s worth the gamble for...

Just visiting the area and thought we’d try to eat out tonight while we’re out and about. Based on the reviews, I chose this place and also because the menu looked good. I ordered the fresh walleye , my husband the Mediterranean pasta, and cheese pizza for the little. When my dish arrived, I was surprised how it came out—-it was unappealing and it did not look appetizing at all. The first bite was as unimpressive as it looked. Fish was overcooked, and the sauce was overly tangy and thick. It was full of lemon skin, some seeds, and just not flavorful enough. The fish had several bones in it. I could not even eat half of my dish. The beans looked sad, so I didn’t even attempt to try it. It looked canned. My husband’s dish didn’t taste good either and the pasta was overcooked. Can’t say much about my child’s meal as I didn’t taste the pizza. I tasted her fries and I liked them. So, that’s a plus. I would not recommend this place based on the food alone.

While visiting our family in Benton Harbor, my husband and I came here for Valentine's Day dinner before we headed back to Texas. Since we are usually in Texas during this time of the year, we decided to try this restaurant at the spur of the moment because we assumed it wouldn't be too busy on "Love Day." :-) We were seated immediately after an 11 member party, and our waitress Olivia was amazing. We ordered the calamari, chicken marsala, and their famous burger. All of the food was fresh and tasty!! The four star is because my sweet potato waffle fries were good, but they were lukewarm. On the other hand, we enjoyed ourselves, and everyone was friendly and provided great customer service. It felt great to have a simple dinner for Valentine's Day because we usually go to 5 star dining establishments in Houston which can easily add up to $150-$200. Thanks Schu's for providing a relaxing dining experience.

A casual restaurant overlooking Lake Michigan. Indoor and outdoor seating available but the outdoor seating is along a pretty busy street so it can get noisy. Visited by locals and visitors, their menu offers just about everything from burgers, salads, soups, noodles and chef features. Started with a Michigan Old Fashion and Cider. They also have a huge beer and wine list. I had the Perch sandwich. Lightly breaded and moist. Came with fries and I substituted the Cole Slaw with asparagus. Delicious My wife had the Black and Blue salad with tenderloin. The salad tho was just romaine lettuce with nothing else such as tomatoes, cucumbers or not much bleu cheese. The tenderloin was seasoned perfectly. This place is very well known in the area and is definitely a place to try when in St.Josephs!
