Black Rose Jewelry — Local services in Saint Joseph

I visited while on vacation in St. Joseph to get my watch battery replaced. I dropped off the watch as he said it would take 30 min or longer. When I returned, I was told he had problems getting the back removed and now needed a replacement piece. Other than that, the minute hand now was free spinning (which was not the case previously). The employee assured me that he would fix the watch for me but needed to get a part from the manufacturer. I provided my contact info along with mailing address as he said he would mail the fixed watch to me.

It has now been almost 3 months, every time I call there is no answer, and I have not heard anything from the company regarding my watch. At this point I don't expect to ever see it again.

Employee was friendly but avoid for any long term fixes or be prepared to lose...

I’m sad to say that after today I will never shop again at Black Rose. After being a good customer for years, I brought a pair of gold hoop earrings in for a repair. The tiny arm (the thin wire that goes through the ear) had broken off. Since I had purchased the earrings from Chip several years ago I certainly didn’t expect to be charged $110 !!! Not only that, he gave me a different (cheaper, dented) pair of earrings in return! I went back to the store immediately, and Chip had the nerve to ask me if I had a receipt!!! (He hadn’t asked for one the first time) and lo and behold, he had the correct pair on his desk. Even if it were an honest mistake, he never once apologized, and instead seemed rather annoyed. Chip lost a good customer...
