We have been to Woodys a total of 4 times in the past year that we’ve lived in South Pasadena. The first time was great…great service, great food and overall a good experience. The second time was on the lower end of the scale but not a horrible experience. Our service was very very very slow and I’m not sure if she even knew where she was at, whatever she was on she maybe should’ve waited to take after her shift was over, but the food was very good just like the time before. We shared an entree and that seemed to cause some problems and it felt as though it was an issue because of the attitude we received when ordering. Because of the good food we decided to give it another try but unfortunately after waiting for 20 minutes and still not one person greeted us not did anyone attempt to get a drink order from us we decided to leave. Again because of our first experience and the food we decide to give it yet another try and this time is was very obvious that every server saw us and it appeared that we were being blatantly ignored and again after waiting 15 min with not even a greeting we finally left and we will never return and we make sure to share our experience with anyone who may ask about the place. I’m not sure if it’s because we are known to share our meal or maybe it’s because we are straight…who knows, but one thing is for sure…woodys will never again have our business and the surrounding restaurants have enjoyed our continued and frequent business ever since our experience. Definitely do...
Read moreIt’s beautiful to eat on the water but, if there’s one thing that you think would be good it would be the fried grouper except they don’t have a fried grouper. It’s some kind of white fish that, is not appealing at all. I mean for the money this place makes, (and it’s all cash money, they don’t accept credit cards) it being literally on the water with abundant grouper to be had, we went there expecting grouper… which I’m sure was always on the menu in prior years.
It is cash only and there’s an ATM that will bang you for three dollars to get money out- so the owner of the place is making money off of that ATM , at the expense of the customer and thats after he takes your 40 bucks for two non grouper sandwiches and a beer. As a local, there are plenty of less expensive and real grouper, or at least a cod fish, on the menu, That I feel no need to go back to this place
It’s been around forever, but the beaches on that end are being built up and new places opening all the time , along with old favorites, there’s no reason to go where the service is agonizingly slow, and it’s inconvenient, because nobody has cash anymore -especially restaurant visits, Without even, a recognizable, state fish if you...
Read moreI have been coming to st Pete beach and eating at Woody's for 17 years and have always loved it. This year I had such an awful experience that I will not be returning. The waiter we had was outright rude and tried to end our interactions as quickly as possible. We used to come and order BOGO Margheritas and cheap happy hour appetizers. They've gotten rid of the cheap appetizers so that was disappointing. We had a hard time deciding what to order for appetizers and the waiter ended up walking away in a rush and deciding for us what we were going to eat. Instead of giving us time, he was questioning what we were going to order and was outright rude. As a breastfeeding mother, I was not drinking alcohol like the rest of our group. I asked for a glass of water when the others ordered their drinks and had to ask again 15 minutes later because he still hadn't brought my water. It was as if he didn't want to serve us because we were not ordering a huge amount of food/drinks. If Woody's reads this review, please feel free to reach out for his name as I've written it down. I hope this waiter was just having a bad day and doesn't treat all...
