We had such a great experience at this location in St. Pete! We were seated fairly quickly and our server was amazing. His name was Drew and his personality exuded sheer happiness! I've had good and bad servers, but Drew was not only awesome, he was genuinely happy and he'd been there since 9:00AM - that speaks volumes about his character! Even if our food would have been mediocre, his pleasant demeanor would have definitely made up for it. On the contrary, our food was spectacular!! We ordered the fried pickles, Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and a sausage & meatball pizza - everything was hot and very flavorful. I took a chance on the beer wall and it was fun! I have no idea which beer I ended up choosing, but I liked that I was able to taste it before filling my glass. There were tons of IPAs on tap, so if you're an IPA lover, definitely check out the beer wall! I also liked that I could pour as much or as little as I wanted - usually when we have a beer with dinner, I have to get my husband to finish it because I don't have time or room to drink the entire beer. Here, I could pour just the right amount and I finished my entire beer. Hubs had a mixed drink - a tangerine blossom - it was tiny but tasty! The restaurant is in a great location and you can join the waitlist on their website, which I recommend if you are planning to go on a busy weekend night around 6:00PM - 8:00PM. We had a late dinner, so we did not have a long wait, but even then it was about a 15-10 minute wait. The prices are reasonable - if you like to drink, just be mindful of the beer wall - you have the freedom to taste every beer on the wall, but you are charged by the ounce, and the prices vary according to the variety that you are drinking. I only spent $6.24 on my beer, which was very good, but I did not completely fill my glass and I only tried that one variety. The mixed drinks are a little pricy for the quantity and while there is a spectacular whiskey menu, we did not indulge on this visit. We are looking forward to another visit and I will review again on the beer wall and whiskey list. My next visit will be with a...
Read moreMy family and I of three rode 45 minutes to Oak and Stone St Pete. It was our first time and we were so excited for the artisan pizza. We were seated fairly quickly however from there was downhill. First the drinks coke products were flat and from there I can’t review anything else. We sat for over an hour waiting for food about 15mins of that time was spent waiting for the server which was the bartender to come even take our hour. I will say she did check on us regularly as we waited for food apologizing for the delay. Finally we decided to leave. I went it pay for drinks the bartender insisted on getting the manager who did nothing but say ok and comp our two sodas even after she explained the ordeal. Keeping our business was not on his list of to do items it seemed he could care less about customer service as we sat there 15 minutes across from the very bar he stood at talking to customers however never acknowledging us to help out the bartender. This was on a Saturday around 1:40 pm somewhat busy however everyone around else was already eating. I hate to think this way… maybe we were not the “kind” of customers they cared to serve this was downtown St Pete other than our party we were the only African Americans in the restaurant besides the manager who was not all a great representative of the restaurant unless of course he was
@Oak and Stone I appreciate you reaching out in regards to our experience even offering to discuss farther about our experience however the website you listed in your response only takes me to the restaurants web page to do what I’m not sure as I’ve already visited and as stated above it was not a pleasurable experience however I guess this is one of those it’s the thought I suppose that counts after all you could’ve just ignored the review completely then again maybe you figured I wouldn’t follow up and it would all be...
Read moreMy friend and I had a great time at Oak & Stone. We had to pass a few weeks ago because the wait was over an hour so we tried again this past weekend, still an hour wait but we found a spot at the bar so it worked out. The gourmet food is very good here. I ordered a gluten free pizza with no cheese and several toppings, which adds up quickly to a high price point with a small amount of each topping on the pizza so that was disappointing ($27!). The flavor was great but the toppings were scarce. My friend ordered the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls for an appetizer and was told it would be about 10 minutes for that order. 20 minutes later we were told it was the next order to be made. Another 30 minutes later the order was up. 50 minute wait for an appetizer that was promised two times to be out much sooner. She commented that it did not taste like a Philly cheesesteak at all but it had a nice flavor regardless. She also ordered the white pizza with marinara sauce on the side. Marinara was very salty, both on my pizza and the side order. The beer and hard cider wall is pretty cool. You are provided a very nice cloth wristband with a chip in it. You scan it on the wall above the beer tap of choice and pour as much or as little as you like. Clean beer/cider glasses are kept in bookshelves throughout the restaurant. The wristband is collected when you pay. I don't know if they reuse them or if they even wash them before the next person uses it (because there's a chip) or if they trash them so that's strange. We also ordered dessert. I had the flourless chocolate lava cake (ice cream on the side) which was so indulgent and rich. Wow! I loved it! My friend had the peanut butter explosion and loved the rich savory flavor. I would love to return to Oak & Stone in DTSP and I highly...
