Update since original review: We went back to Taylor Sam's for brunch this morning without having seen Management's response just because it sounded good today. Right after we sat down, Karah and Kyle both came up to our table and apologized for our last visit and explained that our meal would be comped, which we were not expecting . They were extremely sincere and very apologetic about our previous experience (which again, was one not so good experience out of two previous great ones!) They sent us a complementary appetizer and were very direct that the issue we experienced was not okay and validated our previous experience. They really could not have been nicer or more genuine and understanding, and our food was once again delicious. Their coffee is some of my favorite in town, and their pork rolls and empanada breakfast are amazing. With this most recent experience and the way that they handled our previous experience, we will go back for sure, as this is our new favorite breakfast spot. Our server was also very kind and attentive. Five out of five stars. Thank you Taylor Sam's staff!! Truly some of the nicest people in the restaurant industry that we have encountered in St. Pete. We will definitely be back!!
Original Review: We have had two previously awesome experiences at Taylor Sam's and had great breakfast and lunch there and our server had been awesome. On our most recent visit, our food was accidentally served to another table. It sat on the other table in front of other customers for five minutes before the food runner and server noticed the mistake. The food was then brought over and placed in front of us. Although we didn't see the other customers touch our food, it is generally unsanitary and not okay for a server or food runner to do this. We were disappointed that this happened and our food was not instead remade. The waiter explained that their staff is new, but did not offer to remake our items. We didn't really want to make a big fuss so we just took the food to-go and left. Again, our visits in the past were great, but seeing this happen may have us rethinking...
Read moreWow if I could give it 5+ stars I would! I wasn’t expecting such a great food place for breakfast in Florida but it was! We looked it up before we came and found it was the 2nd location in the US outside of Brick, NJ and bc I love Jersey and the Jersey shore food scene is good so we decided to come. And we were so happy we did. The staff were amazing … fast, friendly, kind, and efficient. You need staff like this when there is always a crowd waiting to get in to eat. The menu was excellent with creative and inventive. The food came out super fast…like record fast in 7 minutes. I was taking pictures for this review and before I finish, taking pictures of the food was already at the table. We ordered 2 dishes. We had the Chicken taquitos $9.99 and the #delicious which was corned beef hash with onions and sweet peppers and home fries and 2 sunny side eggs on top with 2 slices of toast (we asked for sourdough and it was good). The toast could be made into a heart shape when you put the slices together which we weren’t sure if it was made that way or cut that way. But it was cute. The home fries had pieces that were extra crispy and it was so good. The staff are required to check the bathrooms every 15 minutes and it really helps because the bathroom was sparkling clean. We would definitely come back here for breakfast anytime because we want to try all the things...
Read moreMy fiancé and I were super excited to try Taylor Sam’s because of the rave reviews, but we were disappointed with our experience. The coffee: they were out of the key ingredient for any the lattes I wanted and my partners review of his coffee was, “just ok”. The food: he ordered the “Lexi’s Low Country” burger, medium rare. It came out beyond well-done; a dry, flavorless puck that was only edible because of the pimento cheese spread. I ordered the “Hashtag Delicious” and it tasted like it didn’t even have basic seasonings like salt and pepper on it; impressively tasteless for all of the ingredients on the plate. The rye toast it came with was yummy. Our server came over three times to apologize about the burger being overcooked. On her last trip she said the cook gave him someone else’s well-done burger which was probably a weird lie or a weird thing to admit.
