It's been 2 days since our last visit to the Glass Noodle. The food was not to par as it usually is. The pork was overcooked and tasted stale. The rice tasted like it was reheated after 2 days of refrigeration. However, what was most disappointing was the treatment of one of the servers. The young woman whom first greeted us was warm and welcoming. After she took our order and served it, rather served quickly, we didn't see her again until the end. We had to ask another server for utensils, she was pleasant. Now, during the meal my son asked a tall male server, seemed like he had a lead position, for more water. The look of being bothered and disgust is what has been disturbing me for two days. He stared my son down from behind huffed then poured the water. He finally noticed that I too was starring at him. It felt as though he did not want to serve my son, and could not stand the sight of him. Was it because he was not our server or the fact that my son is brown. I do not know for certain. It was very uncomfortable and ruined our time there. This was a spontaneous decision to come here after spending the morning at a wake of a friend. This meal was not free and we work hard to earn it. To say am disappointed is an understatement. I will tell my family and friends of this experience. No paying customers should ever feel like they are a bother or made to feel like a 2nd class citizen. As a reminder, in a time of economic upheaval, you should be grateful. Once your doors close as many restaurants fail in St. Pete, you will not be missed! Another will take your place with a different name. It is my hope no one else experiences...
Read moreI've been a regular patron of The Glass Noodles for quite some time now, often opting for their Chicken Soup with udon noodles instead of the default glass noodles. Up until my recent experience, this substitution has never been a problem, whether dining in or ordering through delivery services like Uber Eats.
However, my recent encounter with the management has left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. Upon placing my usual order and requesting the substitution, I was met with unexpected resistance. The individual on the phone, presumably a member of the management, not only refused my request but also exhibited an unacceptable level of rudeness. Their tone was dismissive and unprofessional, culminating in them abruptly hanging up the phone on me.
Such behavior is completely unacceptable in any establishment, especially one that prides itself on serving customers. As someone who values courteous and respectful service, I am appalled by the lack of professionalism displayed by The Glass Noodles' management.
Needless to say, I will not be returning to The Glass Noodles anytime soon. It's disheartening to see a restaurant tarnish its reputation with such behavior towards loyal customers. I urge the management to reflect on their actions and strive towards providing better customer service in the future. Until then, I'll be taking my...
Read moreThis place is a new outstanding gem in Downtown St. Pete. Right on Central, it's so easy to get to. The atmosphere is fun. Paper koi swim through the air as they light the diners below, and adorable pictures of what I assume is the owner's son donn the walls peering at me with his impossibly beautiful eyes (I hope this place stays unchanged for at least 15 years so he can be embarrassed every time he sees them ). The glass walls retract overhead to let the garden patio set a nice tropical vibe about the place. Service is quick and friendly (Taylor was delightful!). But the real star is the food! I've tried every soup and they're all delicious. My personal favorite has been the Sichuan Hot Pot - it has the perfect savory spicy sour umami! My sister is addicted to their Laos-style papaya salad (lol, not pictured, we ate it) and the excellent selection of sakes. But honestly everything here is perfection. I wish they had a vegan soup option, but maybe...
