I went to this Tijuana Flats for the first time today because I had a doctors appointment near there. I always order the same thing which is dos tacos. I always order hard shell, no jalapeños and steak for the meat. My meal ended up being $21 with a 20% tip for the very nice cashier. I feel like that’s super expensive for two tacos and a drink, but was willing to pay that. I just wanted some peace and quiet and tacos. When I got my order, it was completely wrong. They were soft shell tacos and had jalapeños, and when I told that to the lady, she was basically gonna dump it in the trash and go back and make it again. I chose to keep it because I don’t like wasting food and so it’s no big deal. I can take the jalapeños off a taco, and I don’t mind eating a soft shell even though it’s not my preference. Halfway through my second taco, I found a dark black hair through my meat. At first I thought it was a part of the steak, but it was definitely a person’s hair and it was about 3 inches long. Disgusting. When I was offered a refill by, who I assume is the manager, Kyle, I gave him my plate and told him what happened and he just took it and said “if you need anything else let me know.” Ok, Kyle. Thanks. He was super nice and I wasn’t looking for a refund or anything. I was very nice but I’ll never eat there again, it’s too expensive for basic tacos and they...
Read moreThey overcharged my tab on my pick-up order when I called it in, so I called them right back and went over it with the lady on the phone. My math was correct and the order had been overpriced, so the lady put the manager on the phone and he fixed it. They made my food to order. I drove there, picked up the order, got home, and the tacos they sold me were the scrawniest, skinniest, soggiest little tacos I have ever had in the past 5+ years that I have eaten at this Tijuana Flats location. Taco Bell does a better job for the same price, and I am not exaggerating. The burrito I ordered was cold and barely had enough ingredients inside to qualify as a burrito. They put half the normal amount of chicken in there. They were silently asking for this review, and they should personally thank me for pointing out their lack of professionalism, their lousy math skills, and (worst of all) their lousy taco skills. This is all because they were overcharging me by $3. Was it worth $3 to earn a review like this? Why go to Tijuana Flats and pay over $20 for dinner when they’re going to a) win a miniature soggy taco competition and b) serve you food that embarrasses the Tijuana Flats chain? Hey, Tijuana Flats Manager, you win. You didn’t want my business anymore, and you won’t...
Read moreHonestly I have only ever eaten at Tijuana Flats a few times in my life. Tonight I was reminded of why. We ordered dinner from Tijuana Flats on Uber Eats. We ordered a burrito bowl, chicken chimichanga and queso.
The burrito bowl had little to no flavor. It was mushy. The ratio was horrific. I will blame this partially on being vegetarian. Double beans was a bad idea. However, I would probably feel differently if they weren't so bland. The other listed ingredients were nearly non-existent. I ate about 1/5th of it and tossed the rest. I hate tossing food, but nothing I tried made it edible. Really disappointing.
The chimichanga resembled a burrito. It is unknown if it was even fried. It was super soggy and tasteless. He did muster through and finish most of it.
The queso and chips were the only dishes with salt. Which is a step in the right direction, if they weren't so salty. Tried to put a little bit of lime juice in it to balance out the salt. It didn't work.
I wasn't expecting the best food of my life, but I was expecting it to be edible. Maybe tonight was an off night? The only thing I can say that is positive is that my partner was able to eat most...
