We visited Egg EggBurgh in the Peery Hotel after my boyfriend raved about it—he practically lived off their breakfast during a conference last year.
Visit #1 (Breakfast): We ordered the salmon eggs Benedict, which came on an everything bagel with seasoning. It was definitely different—in a good way—and tasty, though the bagel got a bit overwhelming after a few bites. A half serving would’ve been plenty. We also got the 2x2x2 with over hard eggs, turkey bacon, and red velvet French toast. Alejandro, our server, recommended the red velvet over the regular and we took his advice. Unfortunately, while eating, we discovered a small piece of blue plastic inside the French toast. Alejandro was professional and understanding when we showed him, and the manager came over shortly after to apologize, explaining it likely came from the blue gloves used in the kitchen. She was kind, took the meal off our bill, and offered a replacement even though we declined. Her great attitude actually convinced us to return the next day.
Visit #2 (Lunch): We decided to switch things up and try the lunch menu. We ordered the chicken avocado wrap and the hangover burger, requesting the burger on a sesame bun instead of the standard. When it came out, the bun hadn't been swapped. A male manager accompanied our server and rather firmly said they don’t carry sesame buns. We pointed out that it’s listed as an option on the menu, and after checking, he returned, surprised, admitting it was indeed on the menu. He offered to remake the burger or not toast the bun, but we declined. Though his initial tone felt a bit confrontational, we appreciated the effort to fix it, and they ended up giving us 50% off the meal.
While both visits had issues, the staff and especially the managers went above and beyond to make things right, which we really appreciated. The space itself is cute, clean, and the service is friendly. That said, we opted not to go back a third time during our stay—two strikes was enough. Still, props to the team for their hospitality and professionalism in...
Read moreI've been here a few times and never had any issues. However, I refuse to return after how awful our experience was today. There were so many issues that I lost count. First one, that should be so easy, was the toast. I asked for white bread. I got sour dough that was burnt. Returned that and got extremely burnt white bread with a ton of whipped butter already on the toast. Sent that back yet again and then NEVER got my toast back. I asked about it twice and he just said "oh sorry" and never went to get my toast. What the heck???? I just don't even understand how you get something so simple, so wrong and then just quit trying!!! The poor guy in front of me got a piece of bread that wasn't even toasted at all. After returning it, they brought back toast that was so black and burnt. And sure enough, returned back and never received any toast back. The omelet had eggshell. They forgot my order completely and didn't want admit it. So I sat there for 10 minutes while my kids got their food. They forgot the side of bacon for my daughter. They gave my other daughter fries when she asked for hash browns. The server gave my two teen daughters small kids cups for their apple/orange juice. I asked him to please give them adult size drinks since they are clearly over age for the kids menu. He returned with two empty cups and walked away??? I poured their kids cup of apple juice into this "adult" cup to find out that it holds literally the same amount as the kids cup. Manager refused to understand how stupid that was to be charged $5 for about 3-4 ounces of juice for an adult! She was incredibly rude and didn't seem to care for the customer. However, the table next to us got a full container of orange juice to use at their table with no problem??? I loved this place the last few times. It was on my favorites list but I will unfortunately never go back after how badly I was...
Read moreEggsburgh, nestled in the historic Perry Hotel building at the heart of Salt Lake City, offers a delightful dining experience that combines culinary finesse with exemplary service. From the moment we entered, the atmosphere struck a balance between elegance and comfort, setting a welcoming tone for what was to be a memorable meal. The service at Eggsburgh was nothing short of fantastic. Staff were attentive and efficient, striking the perfect balance between being helpful and giving us space to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed or burdened. This seamless service greatly enhanced the overall dining experience. The food itself was a feast for the eyes and the palate. I opted for the Benny Duo, which included the Irish Benny and the Smoked Salmon Lox Benny. Each dish was crafted with care, displaying vibrant colors and meticulous plating that promised—and delivered—exceptional flavors. The Irish Benny, with its rich hollandaise and perfectly poached eggs, harmonized beautifully with the savory notes of corned beef hash. Meanwhile, the Smoked Salmon Lox Benny offered a refreshing contrast with its delicate salmon and capers, providing a lighter, yet equally satisfying taste profile. My wife enjoyed the Huevos Rancheros, which were equally impressive. The dish was robust and authentically spiced, with components that came together to deliver a genuine taste of Mexican cuisine. It was evident that high-quality ingredients were used, from the crispy tortillas to the fresh salsa and well-seasoned beans.Dining at Eggsburgh was a delightful experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting or living in Salt Lake City. The combination of delicious, well-presented food, efficient service, and the charming ambiance of the Perry Hotel building makes this a must-visit destination for a satisfying...
