I read at least 100 of these reviews and thought surely they were exaggerating / I worried that I’d end up being the odd one who has a different experience but honestly I was blown away. First off - Nate was super responsive right away via email and answered all my questions about the designer/dresses I was looking for. No other USA retailers had this specific designer line and the international designer itself was non responsive due to a language barrier. We considered flying to Europe directly and still couldn’t get a response for an appointment... LOL. I was literally going to give up and get married in sweats. No joke… That was where I was at.
Instead, I’m glad Nate responded because that led to a cross-country trip to try on dresses. Dress shopping in itself was intimidating to me because I’m not super feminine and introverted by nature. Plus traveling from the east coast, coordinating my sis flying in from the south west, all to try on a few dresses I'd only seen on the designers website/Pinterest. SO, very high stress/pressure leading up to the actual appointment. Made the whole positive experience we had even more meaningful. Zoë made us feel welcomed and was outgoing and informative since we were both first timers. She wasn’t pushy or overbearing and gave us time to look around the whole shop to see other options and even just feel textures of other designers' dresses. She was sweet, friendly, and personable. She portrayed herself as a supportive friend who’s also an expert on dresses and honestly that was exactly what I needed. Nate was there and supported throughout, and Zoë gave my sister and I time to evaluate on our own while also helping to narrow down and go through likes, dislikes and observations about each. It was a good mix of help vs alone time. She even introduced me to veils as an option which was the key for me personally to envision myself actually being married in these beautiful dresses. We really enjoyed the appointment and the environment. The shop itself is very well set up, comfortable and beautiful. It had several mirrors to compare lighting vs natural lighting. They weren’t faux-friendly or over enthusiastic to where it feels fake either. I felt genuine interest in their questions, helping to understand our ceremony plans (or lack of LOL) so they could offer good advice and info. After weighing two options, I chose one and am very happy with the final choice. We took tons of photos during the appointment, and I really appreciate that because looking at them now I'm even more sure about my dress choice and it helps minimize my second guessing during the 6 month-ish lead time. I can’t wait for it to come in and also glad they offered to arrange for shipping and to give recommendations for a local alterations shop. No regrets about the added expense of traveling here and would do it again and again to get this experience. One day I'm sure we’ll be back with my sister for her dress.
Side note, I love exclusivity so although I was kinda bummed at first that all the dresses I wanted from that particular designer weren’t there to try on, they did have 2 of my top choices. I am happy that the dress I chose was unique, high quality and something no one else will have. Plus if I had a hard time narrowing down 3 I probably would’ve sh*t myself with all 12 options that I'd been stalking online.
If you’re reading this and uncertain because all these positive reviews seem inflated or exaggerated just go and you will see for yourself. They will take great care of you and make you feel perfectly at ease. Also I love they accommodated my no-kids preference and we basically had the entire studio to ourselves. Oh and final note, their champagne isn't like typical champagne, it tastes super fruity and we both liked it, added bonus. Counting down till my dress comes in! I appreciated the folder they gave to help keep all the information organized after the appointment, not a loose receipt. Had to use a new email to guard my secretive elopement plans to write this review LOL. Thank you all...
Read moreIn short, Bridget saved the day. I have yet to encounter a business that cares more about its clients than the Bridal Studio in Utah.
I had two experiences with Bridget that showcases her kindness and care for the future brides who walk in the door. The first experience was three weeks before my wedding when I came in looking for a veil. When I tried on the veil with my dress, Bridget began asking questions about the seamstress I was using and was concerned that I had seen her 5+ times and that my dress was still not fitting. She was so concerned that she insisted on bringing me to her seamstress to have the job finished. While I thanked her for her candor, I did not want to shell out another $200-300 for another seamstress and decided I would continue with my original one. When I stated this, she said she would cover the cost if I would leave my dress with Sue at Sue's alterations. Everyone in the store, including Sue, was very surprised. When we asked her why she would do this she simply just stated that it was already too much stress to plan a wedding and the dress is not something I should be worrying about at this time. She also stressed the importance of not calling out the seamstress from the store where I bought my first dress. She wasn't trying to tear another business or person down, she was purely just focused on supporting me with my dress.
TWO Weeks later When I went to pick up the dress , Sue and her team did an amazing job. Unfortunately, the damage done by the original seamstress could not be completely undone. I left her store in tears and arrived at the Bridal Studio for the second time as I was still looking for a veil. When Bridget and her team asked how I was doing, I was super honest and said "not great, my wedding is in three days and it still isn't fitting right. At least veils don't need to be altered, right?" When we picked the veil, Bridget came and asked me, "hey do you want to look for a back-up dress?" When she asked this, I was surprised but also at that point where I just wanted to "start from scratch". When she came out with a few dresses, EVERY single dress that she brought out fit super well and was very flattering. When I went to other stores, I did not have this experience! We called Bridget the Wedding Fairy God mother because she truly saved the day.
YES - three days before my wedding I started over with the Bridal Studio and got a NEW Dress. She worked out a miraculous deal for us and let me use the beautiful OPHELIA Daughters of Simone dress. It felt perfectly and I felt so confident and comfortable wearing it. When I informed her that I planned on skiing in the dress, she told me to go for it! She made this terrible day become one of my greatest and most special memories related to my wedding. It didn't hurt that when I was on my way out she had champagne and a sign for me.... seriously, these people pay attention to the details!!
My wedding was during covid so it was super small with about twenty people. When she saved the day, we had one spot left and wanted her to join us. That is how much her kindness meant to me!!
Thank you sooooo much to Bridget and the Bridal Studio fam!! My only regret is not going here sooner. Here on out , I am telling all my friends when they get married --- GO to this store! They will take care of...

A non-traditional, plus size, 39 year old somewhat cynical bride's review of the experience:
I didn't technically "need" this dress, but my heart and spirti did. I actually had a dress I'd found at another shop already, but like many brides--it wasn't my dream dress. If I'm honest, I'd been delaying the alterations and fitting on my original dress because I'd been dreading seeing myself in it - I just didn't feel like I wanted to in the dress despite others telling me they liked it.
So many bridal salons play this psychological game of putting you in dresses that they know aren't right for your body type of what you've asked because they either don't have the selection or want to pressure you into a gown after being emotionally beaten down by the process.
Reality is while Hollywood glamorizes bridal dress shopping, it's brutal--especially if you're not dress sample size. I stumbled across The Bridal Shop team while walking downtown SLC & ended up chatting with the staff on a whim.
I could tell from the jump they were a cut above in the care & attention to detail they showed, so I booked an appointment thinking, "This is going to have to be a perfect gown & experience to get me to pay for a 2nd dress."
To my surprise & happiness, end-to-end top notch. The Q&A intake form helps you set the vibe you're looking for & allows you a private opportunity to share your priorities, insecurities, and overall goal.
Once I arrived I was greeted by their team of experts who took the time to look at the pictures of groom outfit, location, as well as my hair & make-up vision for the day.
I'm VERY non-traditional and had been pressured into the "this is what I should want" trope of tons of lace and beads and a mermaid cut that I didn't feel totally confident in simply because it was the best of the worst that I'd found.
Happy to say I found a dress that was unlike ANYTHING I'd seen elsewhere after visiting dozens of showrooms, and the experience was end-to-end top notch. Such attention to making you feel comfortable, confident, and heard by translating a vision. We are eloping & I'm not doing some huge event so making sure I felt beautiful & bride-like so I could approach a nerve-inducing day with confidence was paramount. Despite not being 100% happy with where my shape is at in the moment, I found a dress that makes me look gorgeous, classy, and bridal -- not easy when you struggle with the reality that you don't look like all the sample dress shapes + sizes.
Kudos again to Zoe & the team - and thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel excited and confident for my wedding...
