UPDATE #2: Once again, couldn't beat the atmosphere or service. The food is fine. It seems obvious that the kitchen has many cooks, and no chefs. This time we went for breakfast and I tried the cinnamon role. It tasted pretty good, but they had obviously poured the icing over while it was still HOT HOT HOT... while this may sound great, and probably looks dramatic, fatty things like cream cheese split when suddenly heated like that. Keep your icing intact by adding it when they've had a minute to become very warm instead of hot, and the rolls will be twice as good... I'd judge less harshly if it wasn't so expensive, but at these prices it needs to not be so amateurish on the finishing touches. Plenty of cheap hole-in-the-walls know how to salt meats and ice pastries, so let's step it up.
UPDATE: Went in again today to try the breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich with sausage. As last time, the service was five stars from every single person on staff, and the atmosphere couldn't be nicer. Unfortunately, there seems to be a common theme emerging from this restaurant group with regards to the food, and it's that things are consistently under salted, or completely unsalted. Both the burrito and sandwich were loaded with great ingredients and plenty of spices, all of which fell flat due to no salt being used on either the potatoes or the eggs in the burrito, and not nearly enough used in the biscuit for the sandwich. It reminds me of when I was cooking for my wife on a low sodium diet. Fantastic execution on everything else, but salt is essential.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: So excited to see this place open and sample their menu! All-in-all, my experience was fantastic. The service was top tier from every person on staff, the prices were very reasonable, and the selection is varied despite a fairly tight menu.
We ordered the Bison Patty Melt and Teriyaki Bowl with Chicken for dinner. The bowl was absolutely delicious, although the noodles were undercooked by a few minutes, and still actually crunchy. The patty melt looked amazing, held together very well, and had great ratios on ingredients. What the melt needed to take it over the top was more salt on both the patty and in the onions.
For dessert, the cranberry bliss bar could use some walnuts or pecans on top to truly be bliss, but the Monkey Bomb with a cup of Publik coffee delivered all the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeautiful building, alright food, but very disorganized staff. I was wondering why this establishment had so many low star reviews and it makes sense after visiting just once.
At this point I think itās a management issue, the staff arenāt doing what they should and I feel like the management is complacent in recognizing that their team is bringing a dissatisfying experience.
there are so many employees like at least 6 in the front of the bar and another 5 in back and 2 others bussing tables, this restaurant obviously doesnāt have a problem with hiring since they can afford hiring so many people on staff. However my cold brew still took 10 minutes to get. This was infuriating as cold brew only takes 10 seconds to pour and put ice and water in. I understand places can be busy but I was staring at what looked like two managers standing next to the order kiosk and the cold brew but were just socializing and looking at their phones the whole time. Completely unaware that they could fulfill a simple order right in front of them.
This behavior most likely inspires the staff and why so many people have complained with staff standing around and not doing anything where they should.
And the bathrooms, horrendous, this is a brand new restaurant but they employees are so lazy that instead of using the brand new paper towel dispenser they just leave the paper towel roll out on the sink letting it get wet and soggy from each use. Gross.
If this was some run down cafe Iād excuse this bathroom but the fact they position themself as a luxury place to get coffee and eat (especially the prices) this is unacceptable. A run down cafe would know that a cold brew only takes 10 seconds and still be able to give that to me...
