I’ve spent thousands of dollars at Drybar over the years; products, memberships, regular blowouts and I’ve always loved the brand. But what happened at this location under the new management of Meg (a redhead) was completely unacceptable.
Meg told me I could use previously accumulated credits. I confirmed and documented this from February. When I returned, she flat-out denied it and refused to take accountability. When I tried to clarify respectfully, she got up and walked away mid-conversation, offering no help or explanation. She said to me “Heres what you’re going to do, pay and then leave!”
On a separate visit, Meg tried to charge me an extra fee because of my hair length, even though I’ve had the exact same style done at least five or six times before with no issue and it’s my understanding that Drybar doesn’t allow that kind of up charge. Again, this only happened when Meg was checking me out.
Frankly, every single interaction I’ve had with Meg has involved some kind of issue whether it was with my account, the appointment duration, or pricing. It feels targeted and personal, and now I’ve essentially been blacklisted for speaking up.
It’s not just me, multiple stylists have quietly told me they left this specific location directly because of how she treats them. I’ve been told she lies to employees, lies to customers, and makes the work environment heavily toxic.
I care about this brand, but no loyal customer should be treated this way. And no manager who behaves like this should still be representing Drybar. This goes beyond a bad day it’s a serious leadership problem that’s costing you great staff and...
Read moreI have been to drybars everywhere from Kansas City to New York to Las Vegas to Toronto and everywhere in between as I travel a lot for work. My stylist Meg, had an attitude from the minute we got there. She seemed annoyed that I had curly hair and told me that “she draws her own boundaries” at the what kind of hair she does and how much time it takes. She also told me that she only has 45 minutes and if she is not done she is not done.
She insisted on rollers even though I asked her not to and I also asked her not to put too much product in my hair, she proceeded to put double the amount I usually put in and told me she knows what she is doing. She then left half way through my blowdry to talk to someone who came in without an appointment and left me with a trainee who was so nice but still learning and didn’t know how to style curly hair .
This was a really disappointing experience. Giving attitude to customers because you don’t like their hair is not on brand with my experience at dry bar. In the end Eryn who was doing my daughter’s hair and did a fantastic job, came to my rescue and redid my hair. She was sweet and bubbly and really nice to deal with… she also knew how to do her job and give me a great blowdry. The only reason this is a 3 star review is because of Eryn and the...
Read moreI LOVE COMING HERE!! The music is always easy to vibe to. There’s chick flicks playing all the time!! Who doesn’t love to see The Devil Wears Prada?? The space is gorgeous. Lots of yellow so it’s bright and cheery. The stylists are all so nice and do great work from what I’ve seen.
I’m here a lot and the new procedures to account for COVID-19 are on point. They wear masks. I’ve seen them wipe down the counters and using hand sanitizer. They even send people back to the chair so they can sanitize the shampoo bowl. I feel really comfortable getting my services done here.
I love the products. They do a good job explaining them and I don’t feel like I’m being coerced into buying anything I don’t need. BONUS!! They’re all cruelty free and a lot of them are plant based so that’s cool.
THE LOCATION!! Right in the heart of Sugarhouse. I can get my workout in, get my hair done, get my nails done, go on a beautiful wooded walk, get lunch and get my groceries all right there near the. It’s a great area.
All in all I highly recommend the Drybar. It’s an affordable blowout with great perks like the scalp massage and you’re never really there more than an hour....
