PLAN TO BE UNWELCOMED!!! 15 Mar 2020 p.m. I expect to be treated with basic common courtesy—nothing more—and, especially, nothing less!
I have had customer service issues with this McD’s franchise before and have taken issues to the managers. Tonight I became livid! I parked my rented scooter along the side of the building, like I’ve done for the last year with no problem. Tonight, a large black security guard got out of his car and yelled across the lot that I couldn’t park there—I had to park up front. There was no signage, nor any reason not to park where I did. The walkway had ample room for wheelchair access, and the scooter was well away from blocking any exits. There was no ADA violation with my parking as it was! Now irritated, I had to re-rent the scooter on the app and proceeded to move it to the front. Partway I paused to check my phone, and I immediately heard the guard yell and forcefully point , thru the plate glass window, that I hadn’t gone far enough and to keep moving on (he had gone inside by this time.) It was not the words, though gruffly spat, but his tone and his pompous, condescending attitude towards me. I continued to the front, parked the scooter AGAIN, and went straight to the manager to vent my complaint about the treatment I had received. Initially, the complaint was well and openly received by a young, demur manager on duty, and she apologized for the treatment. I also explained that I lived in the area, frequented this McD’s, and that I would rather inconvenience myself and go an additional mile and a half to Burger King than spend one dime at this McD’s that night! This was not the first time I and others have complained about the poor customer service, pathetic attitude and overall unwelcoming environment this franchise offers. Each time I spoke to the Manager On Duty, they have acknowledged this problem with their staff, but indicate that they are helpless in rectifying it. Either the Managers are ineffective in making a positive change in their employees, or the District/Corporate Big-Wigs are allowing this to happen. The lack of customer service and concern is appalling---especially for a name like McDonalds! I stormed out and left in disgust!
Advice: Don’t expect to be treated like a valued customer. If you are treated well, it’s a bonus. If not, at least you won’t be disappointed too much.
P.S. I left for Burger King, but not without a zing---I moved the scooter back to the place where I had been yelled at through the plate glass window—right where the security guard had parked his carcass and left it there for him to deal with! And the Burger King manager got a kick out...
Read moreThe team on duty were really quite bla. I also don't understand why they place everything in a bag and whether your eating I or going to take it with you they give you a bag with your food in it everytime and they never give trays. It's also like they just want to rush everyone out. My food took around 15-20 minutes to get. At most McDonalds you can get as much Katchup as you want or need. Getting condiments at this McDonalds can be like pulling teeth. There was some guy in there soliciting in the store. He was going around asking everyone for there receipts and not a person working seen him or stopped him. It was annoying because I actually was keeping mine for the survey, in fact I still got it. I want it for the free sandwich. It caused my dining experience to be quite awkward and there was tension there that didn't belong there. The table after I'm sure felt very awkward to especially after he returned to tell them his hustle. The burger was great just how I wanted and it was even a special order. The store was far from clean and the aura was not there. The door to bathroom always scares the tar out of me because if you walk in the stall and don't pull the door closed slowly and pull it shut or let it go on its own it sounds like a gun going off to me and scares me to death and I forget everything. This McDonalds needs some work that's for sure. Last but not least I was once told when I homeless in there WAITING in line to order a hamburger that, "unless you are Santa Clause you need to get out of my store." I had a big candy cane looking blanket hooked on my back pack. I was forced out of the store, get this, while waiting obviously in line. He did also say I could put my things outside and I did state no I would not because I had so many things stolen from over and over while homeless. I complied and walked out and immediately got off the property however he followed me out while obviously leaving and made some comments and an argument pursue but now there was three McDonalds employees stood there laughing making fun of me and buying me and intimidating me and I wasn't even in there property at there point. I know this was suppose to be just for the last time but wanted to put this out there. Homeless people get treated like garbage. I always did when I went in there and I went in there a lot. Discriminated on everytime I'd have to say. Hope they have worked on it but I'm sure they don't have such a big issue since the old Shelter the Homeless Shelter has been tore down and now homeless shelters are spread all over the Salt...
Read moreWorking a graveyard shift in the area, I thought of grabbing a quick bite while on a quick break. Pulling into the drive-thru, after vehicles in front have ordered, female worker mumbled something about their system “updating” and asked to wait. As I waited for a few moments, she then rudely told me that it was still updating and couldn’t take my order, even though she took an order ahead of me. I asked how long it would take, but no answer was given. I asked again, she continued to say it was updating and that she couldn’t take my order. I finally started putting in a mobile order to make it easier on their end, but she got back on again and rudely said “Did you hear me? We can’t take orders.”
I responded with putting in a mobile order, but she said that wouldn’t work. So now I’m finally frustrated, asking if they’re closed, even though they took an order from those in front of me, to which she replied that they were closed. I replied with that she did not say anything about being closed while their system updated. So I decided to leave to find another place to grab a quick bite, only to hear her say that she did mention they were closed if I were listening to her.
Another driver in the other stall was having the same issue with another male employee, but was actually nice enough to let them know they were temporarily closed until further notice.
Clear unprofessional attitude from this female employee. Definitely needs to be taught better in respect and in having better customer service skills. Guess when you get paid minimum wage, I’d be miserable too. But that’s just an excuse, IMO. Definitely won’t be here again...
