Check my google account and you'll see I have not written a review for a restaurant. I'm honestly fairly easy to please when it comes to food.
I spent 17$ here. I asked for a hot plain latte and the spicy bagel sandwich. I watched the employee make a shot of espresso and then fill the cup to the brim with refrigerated milk. She handed it to me and it was 100% cold. I asked if she could please microwave it, and she did and apologized that it wasn't "hot enough for me". You could feel through the cup that the liquid was refrigerated. She proceeds to microwave it, and it comes back lukewarm on top and the rest of the liquid cold. So I just left the coffee at the restaurant thinking "whatever, it was the cheaper item and it's not a big deal".
I was in a little bit of a rush but there were 3+ employees and I was the only customer, so I figured I could get a bagel sandwich within 10 minutes. I was wrong on that front, as they spent most of the time chatting with each other and making mobile orders(?) after I had paid. So 10 minutes later, I'm now late to catch the bus. Decided to take an uber, and had to ask multiple times where the bagel sandwich I ordered was. They gave it to me 2 mins after my uber arrived, so I have to rush to go catch it. Upon arriving at work, I find out they gave me the completely wrong sandwich. Instead of hot honey, egg, sausage, and cream cheese, I got some kind of bacon and cheddar based cream cheese sandwich that seemed okay but not what I asked for. The hashbrown that apparently came with the bagel was an unexpected surprise, but it was literally soaking oil through the paper bag. I had to throw that out.
I feel like I probably sound super pretentious, but I rarely treat myself to breakfast before work and this was kind of an expensive disappointment. The cornish pasties looked good and the ambiance was nice, so maybe I'll give it another go. I still wish I could get...
Read moreI don’t give Google reviews very often but felt I had to give this place one… I drove from North Ogden to SLC for a teacher workshop last Friday and I stopped by Dough Miner to try the food there. I had seen the place on social media and really wanted to try the pasties and donuts with the brown butter glaze. I arrived at 1:15 and closing time was at 2:00. I was excited I made it before closing. I managed to pick up a half dozen donuts: lava, gold digger, and chocolate tantrum. I was so excited to bring them home to my family and try them. My husband and I were so disappointed in the donuts because they tasted so dry and dense. All three kinds of cake donuts were burnt and almost inedible. Usually, our kids love donuts, but they couldn’t get through half of theirs and we had to throw them away because no one wanted to eat them. If they’re going to charge $4.10 per donuts, then they better taste decent. On the bright side, I liked the Cornish pasties (my husband thought they were okay). I was so disappointed that I had spent over $60 for 6 burnt donuts and 3 frozen pasties that I heated in my own oven. I gave 2 stars because the Cornish pasties were okay, but the donuts were terrible and quite possibly the worst we have ever tasted. The service was fine and I didn’t stick around for the atmosphere. I am hoping that it was just an off day for the restaurant. If I’m in SLC again soon, maybe I’ll give them...

I REALLY wanted to love this place more and make it my daily go-to spot in the morning. As soon as I learned that this place was coming to town, I was stoked and started going every day. At first I really enjoyed it but soon I started to have issues with the consistency of the quality of food. The first issue I had was being given moldy gravy. The second was being sold a meat pie that had not been cooked all the way. Still had raw dough and pink meat in the middle. I brought this up to the staff and told them that I really wanted to make this a daily eat, but was blown off. I was recommending this place left and right to all my friends and coworkers as an awesome hearty meal cause when it was good it was GOOD. but now I generally recommend against it because I don’t want them to be disappointed, and it’s not the cheapest eats in town that’s for sure. Not willing to pay that much to gamble on food. If they could manage to get their quality dialed in and consistent It would be a fantastic spot. But I’m not willing to risk paying for undercooked food and eating rotten gravy. Could have been so awesome, it’s...
