Found this gem on the way out of San Antonio, and what a great way to end a trip-delicious food. Service was great even though they were busy and it was one or two waitresses, they did very well. I could see them scrambling but everyone was attended to. The inside is such a vibe, an authentic homey feel. I got chicken enchiladas and my partner got chicken quesadillas. Everything from the rice to the tortillas was delisshhhh. Some of the best mexican food ive had in a long time! The rice, 9/10, was flavorful and moist, the refried beans were great 8/10, the flavor of the enchiladas was yummmy! 9/10. I only wish there was more chili con carne salsa because i like to eat that with the rice and beans in a tortilla piece, that wouldve made it a 10/10. The horchata was refreshing, personally I enjoy a more cinnamon-y horchata, I dont think there was any cinnamon in this one, but it was still really good. 8/10. I would love to come back next time I visit...
Read moreFirst time eating here with my wife and four children (children range from 10yrs-2yrs). They only had one highchair which was on the verge of breaking, men's restroom didn't have hand towels, and only the hot water worked. Waitress spilled salsa on my 3yr old not to mention chips were all burned. Food wasn't anything memorable, and portions were small. When I paid the bill gratuity(I'm fine with that had they informed me/ or had it posted on wall or menu) was included which the waitress didn't disclose to me nor stated on the menu. In doing so I tipped twice. She let me know after charging my card. When I asked about it the other waitress told me it was common knowledge, which I found ridiculous because Texas Roadhouse, Cheesy Jane's, Fidelo's Mexican restaurant all don't include gratuity. Will definitely not...
Read moreBreakfast Tacos are very good (Sausage and Egg / Bacon Egg ). The chicken fajita taco with green pepper and onion is really good and well cooked food. The flour tortillas are very good tasting and authentic. The Guisada is good, and not too salty. The Asada is not spicy, which I prefer. The burrito comes with Guisada sauce on it, on a plate setting. The cook uses a large skillet method that serves up hot delicious well seasoned food. It is hot in the to-go bag. My one critique is the salsa..... its okay flavor, but if I were to get picky, I like a thicker consistency to my red and green salsa, especially since I love breakfast tacos. They are near to the public parking area and I would have never guessed it is a hidden gem. The staff is really nice and offers you great...
