I’ve been coming to this place for over 4 years now & always had good experiences!! Last night was my first time visiting since the pandemic hit & I was so excited to have their pizza & wings once again after so long…. and it was definitely not as expected. The pizza dough tasted as if it came from a frozen pack… very dry and just had an unauthentic taste to it. If I had to explain the taste, it reminded me of a pizza bought in the frozen aisle - A cardboard crust!!! I paid for pepperoni and jalapeño pizza - there were more jalapeños than pepperoni & the jalapeño over powered everything. It was nothing like the pizza I used to get… the quality and taste wasn’t there this time either. I wouldn’t recommend others to order this menu item if they were looking forward to the pizzas they had prior.

As for my wings, I remember always getting more back in the day… or maybe they were bigger?? $8 for 5 tiny wings??? Maybe throw in the 6th wing or add more celery or carrots to make it worth the purchase. The quality and taste were there though… but they weren’t a decent enough size.

Drinks - Luckily, the drinks I ordered were good! Can’t go wrong with their $6 cocktails at night. Music/DJ was great. Atmosphere is always nice in there.

Overall, I give 4 stars - this is based on music, stop here & drinks Why not more? I mainly come for the food/drinks but due to the quality I’m just gonna have to go with 4. Then again, they’re a pub and not a restaurant - which...

Francis Bogside is a Southtown gem.

It's the neighborhood bar where all the locals go, untouched by tourists or annoying party-goers.

If you're looking for a pub with delicious, handcrafted cocktails, stellar bar food and live music, this is it. Francis Bogside’s atmosphere makes for a chill, laidback and enjoyable time with friends.

Their drink menu can be pricier if you frequent dive bars, but it’s worth it. They use great spirits and ingredients, giving their cocktails unique and enjoyable flavor profiles. Their drinks are also strong and should be enjoyed. This isn’t a place to get hammered. Enjoy your time!

They offer a small menu of appetizer-like foods that can be shared among a group. The prices are reasonable and the food is above your average bar snack.

The live music is also a plus. If you’re not too into actively listening to the performers, it makes for great background noise. It’s not too loud, so you can enjoy chatting with your friends, but you can also sit away from the stage and enjoy the music.

The only real downside is the lack of service. Since the drinks are more complicated than you’re usual well + soda combo, they take a while to make. You’ll also have to hunt/track down a server if you want to order anything. They will not regularly stop...

The female bartender seemed really annoyed when we sat at the bar there were 6 of us. Since we didn't all sit down at the same time and order at the same time she made it seem as if our order was this complex thing, while clearly showing how annoyed she was for everyone to see. So after a couple rounds and some food we tried to order from another round and asked the male bartender to let her know we needed another round. She ignored the male bartender and this caused him to assume we had done something to offend her. He quickly threatened us with getting kicked out. We didn't do anything to offend her as we all work in the hospitality business ourselves. The male bartender began making snide comments to other customers about how he was about to kick us out. We really wanted to resolve the situation so one of my co-workers approached the male bartender to try and find out what happened but we were never told what we did. He stated that he didn't need our money cause he was wearing a $4000 chain. This was truly unprofessional and for me it being the first time there left a really...

Really disappointed! We went on a Saturday night, about 8pm, it is really cozy upon entry I'll give them that. The menue in house is different from online, but we ended up with the fried pickles, fish and chips, a burger, and a Guinness (which was fine). After about a 45 minute wait we got up to ask about the food, and the bartender checked. Out came the poorest excuse for fish and chips I've ever seen, and a mediocre burger. Fish was dry, and tiny, and my fries were totally over fried. My husband's smash burger was a small, thin piece of meat, with a single lettuce leaf and a half a tomato slice. His fries were soggy. We got about 2 bites in before calling it quits. The bartender came back to inform us they were out of fried pickles, the kitchen hadn't said anything. They refunded and offered to replace the appetizer (very nice, nothing he could do about it, we get that), but we were ready to pack up and leave. Stopped at Whataburger on the way home, and the dogs got the other food.

So I actually love Francis and used to live by the old one and now live by the new one. I used to go to bc of happy hour apps, drinks and late night food. Happy hour drinks used to be good too and it would draw us to day drink on Sunday. But now the menu is so tiny and the drinks are more expensive,no more $5 HH cocktails. I wish more people would go here so we can go back to the awesome deals! I’m sad I will never get the days back of the Southtown location, drinking tequila honeysuckles and eating truffle fries while listening to a live band. I finally wrote a review bc I saw the new menu and HH prices/times and got a little sad that the old Francis days were gone.
