Came here for a food special. They have great prices and the food typically tastes great. But our table all ordered with the bartender, who was definitely way too busy to be dealing with as much as they were. No quality customer service, just irritation of his voice as our group of 6 began ordering with him. He still had to make drinks in between people he was serving and taking orders. And he probably needed help.

But as we all ordered our food and waited over the course of an hour, two people didn’t get the items they wanted. One was edamame and the other was the Katsu sliders.

The host argued with us that we had received it because the bartender said we did. And our table of 5 that ordered several plates and drinks stated that she didn’t, as she had been waiting for over an hour. They also stated that the order didn’t exist because she didn’t have a paper receipt, but she didn’t receive one and the charge was in the bank app as well already.

After 5 more minutes, the host finally comes and says the chef will take care of it himself personally.

Then the food finally reaches the table after a couple of people leave and the pork cutlet feels cold but the buns are burnt BLACK!! And we couldn’t help but laugh due to the audacity, it was just too funny.

But I’ve been a patron here personally since day 1, where the owners and chef would sit down and visit with customers and get an in person review.

It’s so sad to see how far down the service has fallen, because I believe in the mission of the Cherrity Bar and have always been happy to throw my money here. It was also embarrassing for me to go on about how amazing this place is and for this to be the service our table of 5 was served.

Hopefully something changes. The food was great, but we definitely didn’t appreciate the service or the accusations of not actually paying for what we ordered.

Here is a picture and a video of what they had given us. My friend went home hungry after a long day and didn’t feel good after the lack of...

Quality has gone down within the last year. Each and every time we have been (5) there has been a major issue with a dish. Cold rice (colder than ambient temperature), undercooked rice, missing components to dishes that were extra charges, and consistently burnt food (eggs, vegetables, garlic, etc.). You name it, they'll find a way to burn it. They've even taken fried garlic off the menu because it was so consistently burnt. Without the garlic, the ramen is only mediocre.

Service has also tanked. Waitresses will disappear and not check on quality of food.

We had continue to give it more chances because they're quite tasty when they're able to serve their food properly. This last time sealed the deal for us. We won't be returning due to the consistent disappointment.

EDIT: We returned after 8 months in hopes that Cherrity bar had returned to their former glory. Unfortunately, we had an even worse experience. Tonkatsu ramen broth was bland. It tasted like water. The manager admitted that they failed to due a line check before serving the broth and that it was indeed prepared incorrectly. Oyakudon had cold, hard rice. Manager admitted they didn't add enough water while cooking the rice. Pork katsu sliders were undercooked and raw in the middle. The re-fire had burnt pork and stale buns. The manager admitted that the kitchen knew the buns were stale as of that morning and were not supposed to serve them. Karage were extremely sour. Manager admitted that they had been marinating too long. Once again, quality control was non existent. This was truly our last chance here. It used to be SO GOOD...but not more. The manager handled the situation well, but she shouldn't have been put in that situation. She was excellent.

Lastly, Abby is an extremely cold server who has no place being in a customer-facing role. I don't understand why she still works there...Every request elicits a response that suggests she's upset she has to do her job. Really off-putting behavior, regardless of...

Very neat place! Our host was friendly and quick to greet us, showing us options of seating, as well as guiding us to the restrooms when they were needed.

The bar is a fun place. The mixed drinks are all so fresh, and are made with a lot of attention to detail and flavor profiles that compliment each dish.

Our waiter, Peyton, served us and was really nice, efficient, and thorough. He gave awesome recommendations off of the menu, as 2 people in our party had never eaten Korean/Japanese food before. Everyone loved their dinner and drinks! We especially liked that the menu was made from scratch dishes, with a variety of options. The servings were plentiful. Even the small bite plates were great for sharing bites to try different tastes.

We enjoyed the fact that there was indoor or outdoor seating. The restaurant has a yardscape with options to keep the kids busy, too. The patio features fans and ample lighting. We were worried there might be flies or mosquitos, but we were pleased not to see hardly any!

Note, because it's in the city, there's not a lot of parking (as it's street parking). We ubered here just fine as it's in proximity to anywhere in the area you might be staying if you're from out of town vacationing or on business. Plus, the drinks are THAT GOOD to indulge and ride, instead of drive.

Be sure to ask the host/hostess about the secret menu ;).

Definitely recommend this hidden gem, just a short hop from the Riverwalk!

Thanks again, Peyton, for the great service! We'll visit again next time...

My friends and I had an event to go to at the Alamodome and noticed this ramen spot. We decided to eat here before the show and we were pleasantly surprised! We came a little before opening but we were seated and taken care of immediately! Shoutout to Gwen for providing excellent service and for recommending delicious food items! We started out with a few appetizers: chicken yakitori, kushishitake, kushikatsu, and gyoza. The yakitori was good, the sauce really brightened the chicken up in terms of flavor. The gyoza was appropriately chewy and had a but of crunch from the pan fried side. The kushikatsu was cooked to a perfect crisp, meaty fans would love this. The star appetizer to me was the kushishitake! I normally don't care for mushrooms but these were marinated in some kind of sweet soy sauce and it was incredibly tasty! It was also perfectly deep fried and has an incredible spicy mayo sauce to add more flavor! We were also given roasted edamame which had excellent char and a bit of saltiness! For my main dish, I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. The broth was flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly! It also had more of those delicious mushrooms! The eggs were marinated and softboiled with a creamy yolk. A strong ramen and I recommend it if you come here! Our experience at Cherrity Bar was an absolute pleasure! I would love to come back here again if only for those mushrooms! Good food, good service! This place deserves your business!

Came for a Friday evening Happy Hour. The primary parking lot is the small gravel lot across Montana Street. It was a chilly evening, so opted to eat inside, but the patio area out back was nice and spacious. Was immediately greeted at the hostess stand as soon as you walk up. There's 2 separate interior dining areas and I was seated on the left side where there's several eating rooms and the bar. The interior was very unique as it still felt like an original house. There's nice artwork throughout the interior and there were games to play on bookshelves. Waitress immediately came over to explain the current menu, drinks, and the current month's charity. It's nice they choose a worthy charity to donate some of their proceeds monthly. For the food, there was a nice mix of traditional Japanese foods and some fusion Japanese food. The small plates were similar to an izakaya style ordering. It made it pleasurable to share and also an opportunity to try many different items. Ordered everything from the Belly Bao, Karaage, Tebasaki, Pork n Kimchi Dumplings, Katsu Sliders, and House Pickle Plate. Everything came out as they were made, similar to an Izakaya. Food was great and all were freshly made. The various cocktails were good and even better that the special cocktail resulted in $1 being donated to the selected charity. Nice casual restaurant serving traditional Japanese comfort foods and some fusion foods. Good food and service.
