Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in San Antonio

Their sandwiches are good but they have been more and more skimpy with the ingredients. I miss the days when they were THICC and loaded to the brim with everything. Now, it's a thin layer of meat, sprinkling of lettuce, a couple slices of tomato, and whatever else you get on it. $3 for a couple slices of sad avocado is frankly utter bull when one can run to HEB and get a whole one for a buck even when they're out of season.

They're drinks are overpriced for how small they are. Not a fan of Cinnabon. If you want pizza, go to an actual pizza joint to get your money's worth.

All that sad, the people at thus one are usually friendly and the inside is usually clean and chill. Plenty of parking, though to get into the parking lot you gotta come long way around the access road or back way thru the road between the car lots on 281. So a pain to get into, esp since being at 281 and 1604 makes that a high traffic area all times of day.

I'd rate it a 3.5 if I could. As I said, the sandwiches are good, I gave the food a 3 and Service/Atmosphere 4 star each. I rate the food at a 3 because they are getting greedy and skimping on the sandwich filler. End of the day, I still love getting a giant sandwich to have as 2-3 meals or split with my partner or...

I'm not sure what I ordered, I haven't really tried a sandwich here before and saw the sign Meatier Sandwich walking in. I Thinking that was an actual sandwich and asked for it at the register. I even explained that I hadn't been in before. So she said ow that's the #2. And that's what I purchased w chips and a drink. Wasn't what I was expecting, though, once I received it. Maybe a little explanation could've been given because now that I'm writing this and reading online, it's not what I was thinking, it's just an advertisement that they're adding more meat to sandwiches. Then maybe I would've taken more time to think about what I wanted. But $14 for a meal plus a tip (now regreting the tip) altogether I might've decided on something else on the menu instead. After adding olive oil to the sandwich, it wasn't bad, but I don't think I'll be back. On another note, I was in around 2 pm. This was passed lunch. Unless 4 different booths just happened to leave at once, idk but multiple tables were dirty. I saw an older employee go to whipe one down after sitting down. Ordered a medium original sandwich, medium drink and a bag of chips. Hate to see small sandwich. My medium was a normal size. not too small or too large. Brad was good, but not quite as good as it use to be about 10 years ago. Haven't been here is about 10 years. Childcare awesome. Jyst say manufactured for Schlotzky's. Perfectly seasoned cracked pepper chips--better than Lays. Bit pricey at $11.23 for chips, med. drink, and med. sandwich (with is really just a normal sandwhich). Sure they use meat, but Whataburger used Angus beef and I can order two regular burgers, med. fries, and med. drink for under $7.00. They have do e away with servo g a paper li rd plastic basket and now use plastic plate. Guess the price us to pay for dishwasher. Lets be real. Companies raise prices yo increase wages. You get a buck mow an hour and prices go up 75 cents. Wow, you really got about a 25 cent an hour raise. Say inflation is 1.5% in 2018. You hive a 2% raise. Wow, I really got 1/2% raise.
