Bean Me Up Coffee — Restaurant in San Diego

I recently moved to OB and stumbled upon bean me up on the way to work. As other people stated I only had card but the owner trusted me to come back and pay later, you just dont see that anymore and it was pretty cool. I come here now 3 days a week, my daughter always comes with me and gets an apple juice and a banana, last time the owner gave her animal crackers too! They only except cash. I only had my bank card. John the owner told us we can pay them next time we came through. We had zero cash but went to the atm nearby. We live out in East County and only come in town about once a week. I didn't want to have to make him wait so we circled back. In this day & age and in a pandemic I feel that this is very rare. I consider it the best customer service you can get. We will not get coffee anywhere else but Bean Me Up when we come back to OB. We are sold on this place...

I ordered a two shot espresso and a bagel before I realized that it was a cash only stand. The owner entrusted me to pay him back later. I came back with the cash later and bought a croissant as well. It was really nice to see that he had enough trust to believe that someone would actually fulfill their promise.
