Take everything with a grain of salt, any new spot will have kinks & things to work on! Approaching with an open mind and no expectations, booked a reservation for 6p on a Wednesday with the boys for a pre-birthday celly. Booked online, they have a $10/head rezzy hold but that's standard procedure these days (Refunded after)! Right next to grass skirt - immediately when you walk in you can feel the Captain's Quarter vibes. Love the visual screens in the portholes that add a 'in the ocean' fun energy. Our server, Shantel was literally 12/10 (we spent time talking about how to properly spell her name so if I got it wrong please correct me). I arrived early and was still able to be seated while my friends got there. Shantel was super patient, walked me thru the menu & recommended some awesome gin drinks (I'm a sweets, tequila, mezcal guy). Had a Captain's Orders & Son of A Gun - both solid drinks that led me finally to a Dirty Martini lolz. Food was delicious and super quality, similar to high quality at Grass Skirt. We had the Halloumi Fries, Grilled Prawns, and Mussels - and Shantel did a solid job of setting expectations on the mussels not being in a broth. Also had the caviar bumps lol - fun - Sturgeon! Also b/c our table is always elite w/ positive vibes not to brag - but we got to try a lil special special item that was great. To speak to the service - my martini I ordered hadn't come out as quickly as our other drinks (which we hadn't noticed or minded, Shantel proactively went and got it immediately fixed and comp'd the drink. At this point the place was basically capacity packed and she still found time to regularly check on us and had just positive, legend energy. If she ain't the lead server then get her there, yesterday!!! The only thing that was tricky was that there was only 1 bathroom stall, which, I understand for a smaller speakeasy space, but just to be prepared for! Definitely a vibe and will be bringing friends here in the future. Cheers! x

This place is awesome! We were the first people seated. So you still get into it going though the Grass Skirt. But you don't go in though the fridge you to go the right and are immediately met with a absolutly stunning room. The menu has a good amount of fish and a caviar bump! Which are so fun. But there's some legit good meat options as well. I ordered the Halumi fries and a captain crunch and ecto cooler to start us off. After we ordered I started to take a look around at all the details and OMG the inside is GORGEOUS!! They have moving picture walls with portholes and the back looks like a epic view from the front of the ship. The ecto cooler is great with a nice finish of coconut. It's not too sweet. The captain crunch is very well balanced. The Halumi fries are sooo delicious! I had the Beef Rioja and it was absolutely melt in your mouth delicious! We also had the procutto sandwich with jam and it was simple but so perfectly executed. I then had their take on a French 75 (ocean bubbles) followed by the captains orders, the captains orders was my favorite of the evening and a deliciously delightful finish! My hubby finished with a GS approved and that was his favorite drink. There is a 5% surcharge to the items btw. Also the receipt is adorable! They cross out "grass skirt" and wrote in Captains quarters.

Concept & Atmosphere: Captain's Quarters, the sister venue to The Grass Skirt, is a whimsical and refined cocktail bar that seamlessly blends fantasy with nautical charm. The concept, inspired by 17th-century ship captains' quarters, takes guests on a luxurious and moody adventure through time. The cohesive design by Davis Ink, also behind The Grass Skirt, creates a visually stunning experience with meticulous attention to detail.

Culinary Delights: Executive Chef Brian Redzikowski curates an adventurous yet approachable menu, ranging from elevated tidbits like smoked salmon poppers to more substantial fare such as mussels escabeche and beef rioja. The diverse menu ensures there's something for every palate, promising a culinary journey in each bite.

Signature Cocktails & Beverage Selection: The star cocktail list dedicated to gin explorations pays homage to the sea-faring tradition. For those not inclined towards gin, Beverage Director Eric Johnson crafts inventive concoctions with rum, mezcal, bourbon, tequila, and vodka. The extensive drink menu, including gin & tonic kegs and a curated wine and beer selection, showcases the commitment to offering a diverse and high-quality beverage experience.

Notable Menu Items: Smoked Salmon Poppers with mascarpone mousse and caviar. Beef Rioja featuring potato purée, pickled pearl red onion, and a red wine sauce. Fools Gold dessert – sticky toffee date cake with honey yogurt and mint.

Happy Hour & Specials: The enticing happy hour menu, available Monday through Friday from 5 pm to 6 pm, presents an opportunity to indulge in discounted cocktails and food specials, making Captain's Quarters an accessible and enjoyable destination.

Service & Hours: With a focus on guest satisfaction, Captain's Quarters offers reservations throughout the week, providing a welcoming and accommodating environment. The late-night hours on weekends ensure patrons can savor the experience at their own pace.

Online Presence & Mailing List: The restaurant's online presence, complemented by an exclusive mailing list, keeps patrons informed about special details and events, fostering a sense of community and engagement.

Conclusion: Captain's Quarters successfully combines a captivating concept, culinary excellence, and a diverse drink selection, creating an immersive and delightful dining experience. Whether seeking a romantic evening or a lively gathering with friends, this establishment offers a unique and memorable journey that extends beyond the...

Very fun and quite delicious! We arrived just a touch before opening, and got a bit lost (I'd been to grass skirt years ago and forgot how to enter 😅). Big thank you to the kind staff who saw our confusion and helped us out!

The Landlubber tonic was very refreshing, and the Hi-Sea tonic was just lovely! I think I like the Hi-Sea better with its touch of fruitiness. The Pistachio Prescription was super good– sweet and creamy and nutty 😋. Deep Water is an almost-dessert-but-not-quite. It sounded like a riff on a banana split, and while I feel there could have been the slightest bit more of banana, I really loved how the cherry cola foam paired with the bitterness of the drink. It did take a minute to get through the foam to the drink though, we did get cherry moustaches for our efforts 😆

For food, we had the papas bravas, the za'atar chicken nuggets, the pork belly bao, and the manchego prosciutto sandwich. If you're sharing, get the papas and the nuggets, they were delicious and easy to share! The sandwich was also good, has four slices and a delicious jam to spread on it. The bao was tasty, but it is just one bao. I didn't look at peoples photos beforehand, and I thought there would be maybe two or that it would be big enough to cut in half and share– but it is only one bao (about the size of half a tennis ball).

The building is beautiful, I love the nautical decor! At first, the music was really at odds with the atmosphere, but after maybe 15 minutes it was switched over to something more on theme. Probably that was someone's prep-music that just didn't get switched when they opened.

We got there right at five, so there were only a handful of others there. While it wasn't crowded, it did take us a second to catch the bartenders eye from our booth to order round two. But the servers were all so kind and helpful and the drinks and food came pretty soon after we ordered them.

We had a lovely time, I'd like to...
