Harry's taco club — Restaurant in San Diego

Don’t get me wrong, the food here is good, but only when they manage to get your order right. I have ordered from here probably 20+ times, and as of lately, in the last 4 months, it’s blatant that quality of service has gone substantially downhill. I don’t usually write reviews but this is the 5th time in a row that Harry’s has let me down. I order the same thing every time and yet somehow it’s still wrong.

Phone service guy disrespectfully tells me that they couldn’t accommodate me asking for no cilantro in my burrito??? Okay. Weird. Never was a problem before, at least the first 10 times I ordered from here. Lo and behold, no cilantro is a totally reasonable request. Not an issue if you talk to the right person. Nonetheless, this is the 5th order in a row containing cilantro when I am certain to specify NO CILANTRO, and it’s even on the receipt.

I ask for added beans in my burrito. No beans. Or, like last time, suddenly, there are no fries in the burrito, but there are beans (shocking), even though I ordered a California burrito?

I ask for extra orange sauce. Every time. No extra sauce. Every time. In fact, it’s almost like they withhold the sauce out of pure spite or carelessness. If you don’t want people asking for extra sauce, then just charge an extra dollar and people will pay the extra dollar for extra sauce? But no, instead they say “okay” and then never provide it.

Long in the short of it, the food is good but the customer service is not. This is the 5th order they didn’t get right and now I’m beginning to question why I continue paying money for it. It’s disappointing to say the least. Hire people who care. The people there right now clearly don’t and have 0 problem ignoring what the customer is...

We go to Harrys pretty often and have always loved the food there! One of the best taco and burrito spots in town for sure. However we're very disappointed at the quality of the food the last couple times we went and honestly feel like not coming back after the very last one, which is sad because we want to keep being regulars. This past Friday night 12/6 we placed an order for pick up and made it there in less than 10 min. It was ready when we arrived. We really feel like they gave us an old order and here's why: The cali burrito was soggy and cold. The actual fish on the grilled fish taco was the so bad, no flavor, terrible texture, not to mention it was such a tiny potion. The tortilla was undercooked and it had avocado which I had specifically asked to remove. The fries were undercooked and soggy as well. Again, given the fact that the order window-pick up time was so tight, how could our food be cold and soggy? Lastly, this time we ordered the full order of fries that we saw on the online menu, but they still gave us the small size. So we paid more but got the same usual side. Is the online platform outdated or did they put the wrong item in our bag?

Honestly, this was the second of two underwhelming experiences with take out orders from there. Our goal here is to say we know how great they are specially for dinning in, but really gotta step up the game on the to go logistics as it really doesn't do justice to how good we know this place to be. We hope by leaving this review the owners can do something about it to make it better for the guests...

Great Tacos!!

This taco shack may be small but ours out great tacos! I ordered the shrimp and steak taco, steak taco and carne asada fries.

The shrimp and steak taco I ordered spicy (since the spicy shrimp tacos were highly recommended). They did not disappoint. The shrimp was flavorful and the steak was well marinated. Tacos came loaded with meat and topped with fresh pico de gallo, shredded cabbage and avocado. Also comes with three different sauces (salsas); red sauce (spicy), creamy cilantro sauce and a third sauce that looked like a mix of the two prior (this was my favorite).

The carne asada fries were tasty too. The fries were battered and seasoned then topped with carne asada, pico, guacamole, and cheese.

Staff was not only helpful in recommendations, they were also very friendly too. Great...
