READ WHOLE REVIEW!! My partner and I went to this food truck and were super excited! We walk up and the lady working the truck asked for our order. My partner gave her order and decided to make it a combo and she asked for waffle fries ( waffle fries are stated twice as an option on the menu, and pictured once). The lady taking our order laughed and just shook her head. She then told my partner that they only have regular fries or onion rings. It was condescending and in poor taste. So, following her ordered I ordered and asked for my shawarma on a French roll. We waited for 10 minutes and she gives us our food. Didn’t think to give us utensils, so of course we had to ask. After leaving I came to realize that my order had not been on a French roll but rather was on a wrap. That alone isn’t a huge problem, but it speaks to a complete lack of care for customers. They clearly spent a lot of money getting their food truck spruced up, but can’t seem to have employees that care about customers and their experience (the main part of a business). It seems to me that they only care about appearance not actually delivering quality in the other facets of a food business....
Read moreMr. Shawarma has some of the best food around! Not only is it delicious, but its also on the healthy side. Every dish has at least 2 vegetables and some dishes come with a salad! When you hear the word "SHAWARMA" think carne asada x10. The beef is Soo delicious its like and explosion of flavor in your mouth! At first bite your teeth chomp down on the tenderest piece of steak similar to wagu and all of a sudden your jaws explode open due to a rush of flavor of from the smooth cilantro to the tangy sweet citrusy flavor along with herbs and spices used in middle east cooking. Exquisite! You go back for more and try to break down the flavors but your overwhelmed by the tender goodness of "SHAWARMA".... Try it! and tell me I'm wrong. Thank you Reema! (Sorry if I misspelled your name). She cookes with love and makes sure you get the best experience at Mr. Shawarma. The guys are also pretty friendly too, don't know what to get, they're more then happy to explain what's...
Read moreI visited Mr. Shawarma in San Diego on two separate occasions, and overall, it was a good experience.
On my first visit, I ordered the chicken shawarma, and it was excellent! The spicy sauce was a standout—absolutely amazing and really elevated the dish. I was so impressed that I decided to return the next day and order the same thing. Unfortunately, this time the shawarma came without the spicy sauce, which was a bit of a letdown.
Another disappointment was that on both days, they didn’t have rice available. It was a bummer because I think having rice as a side would have made the meal more complete.
That said, the food itself was still good, but I believe they need to improve their consistency and ensure they always have rice available. If they can work on these aspects, this place would easily be a five-star spot
Forgot to mention the baklava was excellent. Unfortunately on tbe second day they were...
