Nunu’s is an unsuspecting little tavern, but I found myself pleasantly surprised! The sangria was quite tasty (and strong), and the yard bird club was really quite a good sandwich. I was impressed by the quality as I only expected run-of-the-milk bar food. Nunu’s does a good job of elevating their fare and drink to the next level. The atmosphere is semi-loungey and it feels intimate enough that you can have a fairly private and experience in a crowded bar. I’ll definitely be back! Update: Came back tonight with an old fiend and enjoyed a couple of Fall Brewing’s Japanese lager “Tora”, plus a Smokestack burger and a Yardbird sandwich. Everything was super tasty as always! My friend was pretty impressed by the Smokestack burger. We had a nice time hanging out and chatting, enjoying the food and drinks. Nunu’s is still going strong and churning out tasty eats and welcoming vibes.

I never expected to receive such great service and incredible food at such a late hour on a Sunday. From the start, the doorman made a great first impression with his friendly demeanor and light, funny conversation. At the bar, Natasha greeted me before I even sat down. She is an incredible host and bartender. She made some excellent menu recommendations, and I went with the blackened Caesar wrap. The fries were probably the best I’ve ever had, and as a self-proclaimed french fry connoisseur with 34 years of experience, I can confidently say they have THE best French fries. Good old-fashioned hospitality, 10 out of 10. I will definitely be back. Thank you Natasha and Rob! -FB. Manager at the largest casino in So-Cal.

Step aside, boring beige bars — Nunus is where the real party lives and breathes. From the moment you step foot through the threshold you're hit with a kaleidoscope of burnt orange magic, whisking you back to the 70s in the best way possible. But let’s talk about the true star of the show — barman Mike, whose La Casita specialty cocktail (and also his rizz tbh) swept me off my feet. Go for the drinks. Stay for the vibes. Thank Mike later.

Nunu’s Tavern — Where Legends Pour and Good Times Never Miss

There are bars… and then there’s Nunu’s.

A true San Diego gem, this place hits every note perfectly—from the nostalgic, low-lit atmosphere to the music that somehow always matches the mood. It’s that rare kind of joint where you can roll in solo or with a crew and know you’re in the right spot. Nunu’s doesn’t just serve drinks—it serves legendary nights.

Now let’s talk staff, because that’s where Nunu’s becomes something special. Leading the charge behind the bar is none other than Melissa—bartender extraordinaire. She’s got the craft, the hustle, and the sixth sense for knowing exactly what you need before you even finish your sentence. Quick with the pour, quicker with the wit, and always locked in—Melissa is the pulse of Nunu’s.

Holding it down with her are the ever-solid Jeremiah, Mike, Natasha, Val, and Boom—each one an absolute pro who knows how to keep the vibe flowing and the service sharp. This crew doesn’t just work here—they own it in spirit.

And of course, a special nod to Mary-Sara, the adorably charming table server who keeps the floor glowing. Her smile is part of the atmosphere and her energy rounds out the experience in the best way.

Nunu’s Tavern isn’t just a bar—it’s a rite of passage. The kind of place where stories begin, friendships deepen, and strangers become regulars. Always on point, never off beat. Five stars? Nah, Nunu’s is on...

This isn't an indictment on the place, but the misplaced emotion from the Bartender last night. You should check yourself before you disrespect someone/customer. You have no decorum, nor can you handle adversity in any manner. Hence, why are you still bartending with attitudes against people who didn't do a thing to you? You're 50 and still haven't learned how to act, and you're the face of a venue, sadly.

After the bartender displayed churlish behavior, I walked down the street to the next bar, where I was given free drinks and snacks. There's always a positive outcome from inimical people.

Regardless, I wish you luck, and whoever hurt you or whatever you’re going through, I hope it gets better. For all you know, my father could have died yesterday, but unfortunately, I respond and don’t react to matters. Strangers aren't your punching bag,...
