I would give -5 star due to the fact I had a valid Canadian driver's license, valid military ID and was refused service because they Saif they only except passports.. the gentleman at the door said that he was in charge and didn't make the rules. Make sure if your a tourist to avoid this place because their rules change to what the manager at the time feels. He said it's the rules and it's posted tat the door. We told him it states valid Canadian drivers license on the sign at the front door, he stopped talking to us. They obviously don't need tourist's if they can afford to refuse people willing to spend a couple hundred dollars a piece isn't worth their time.

Open Bar in San Diego is the ultimate party destination! The amazing crowd, dancing, and lively atmosphere create an electrifying experience. Open till late, it's the go-to spot for night owls seeking a fantastic time. This hip and trendy haven will captivate you with its energy and leave you loving every moment. Cheers to a memorable night at Open Bar! šŸŽ‰šŸ»šŸ’ƒšŸŒŸšŸŽ‰šŸ»šŸ’ƒšŸŒŸ

Great dive bar. It used to open up at 6a but now it opens up at 7a. Great drink prices for the PB area. Great atmosphere and there’s a huge patio as well. There are billiards and darts available. As well as a juke box. It gets pretty busy as the day goes on.

I’ve been going to Open Bar for years, it’s been on of my local spots for drinks and food in PB for almost a decade with no issues.

On the evening of Thursday August 7th 2025 around 11pm, I walked into Open Bar with a black backpack and handed it over to security. I then requested it back before leaving to go to Firehouse around midnight. I then left the black backpack at Firehouse because, alcohol.

The next morning, a man wakes me up inside my home by knocking on my bedroom door. His name is Tim Lowrey, who works at Open Bar, and he was accusing me of stealing his backpack.

Turned out Open Bar security had given me the wrong backpack when I was leaving, and it was Tim’s backpack that was forgotten at Firehouse. Tim went to Firehouse, got his backpack and its contents back from there.

Throughout the night where Tim thought I had stolen his backpack, he falsely accused me of theft and posted photos of me on social media. As a result, I got kicked out of a different bar on the following Saturday (Flamingo Deck), by a bartender who recognized me from Tim’s posts.

I asked Tim to reach out on social media to retract his allegations of theft, and to the staff at Flamingo Deck. He has completely ignored my request. Not only has he cut off communication with me about this, but I have evidence that Open Bar staff is still confused about the validity of the allegations of theft, despite having video footage of their mix up, and Tim retrieving his similar-looking backpack from a different bar with all its contents untouched. Finally, there’s a missing hoka running shoe from MY backpack I retrieved from Open Bar.

Again, I have already reached out to Tim to try to resolve this without resorting to legal action, but he has declined to answer. As a result, I am taking legal action against him on grounds of harassment, trespassing, defamation, and theft, and will be including any liability involved to his employer. Open Bar can still remedy this situation by setting the record straight, so give me a call if you would like to avoid going...

Make sure to double check your receipt before paying!

We were having a great night at the 710 Beach Club up until the very end! They have you pay on these smaller mobile devices. I couldn’t see what items were on the receipt, but at first glance everything looked okay. I asked for a paper receipt, but was told they would give me a copy after I left a tip etc. After leaving a generous tip for Lexie (our waiter) I noticed we had been overcharged.

Explaining the situation to Lexie and later to her manager I explained that I wouldn’t be paying for goods I didn’t receive so I’d either like to receive the drinks I had unknowingly paid for or be refunded. Lexie and her manager became really rude, essentially saying there was nothing they could do about it. Mind you, throughout the night we had been very polite; throughout the evening Lexie had repeatedly come up to us, asking us multiple times if she brought drinks she herself had brought over; she herself was losing count of what we had and hadn’t received.

After refusing to check the security footage (I asked them to please review it as my partner and I had kept a count of our drinks) we were escorted out of the bar without the opportunity to finish the drinks we HAD ordered and paid for. Very sad ending to the night as we had been having...

These guys have created a place where locals and tourists alike can mingle, catch just about ANY sporting event on one of their 24 big screen different channel monitors! Sports fans from anywhere on the globe can go have drinks and catch up on even the most obscure event ! The owners have been the same awesome guys for over 18 years. Their vision of a great hangout place with cheap drinks and pool tables and darts and great music all 1/2 a block from the beach is a local icon for the Mission / Pacific Beach community. Oh, and I have to mention, check any establishment that has a full bar anywhere on or near the beach and you will not find better prices. They have always prided themselves on being the Best Value for your buck in town! I feel lucky I found this place and always stop by when I’m...
