Pacific Catch — Restaurant in San Diego

Yesterday October 11th @ 2pm was my 1st time dining- in with a friend and her Furry baby (Dog). She mentioned that the food, atmosphere and customer service was good and enjoyed eating their... Unfortunately that day was my 1st and last time eating here as well for my friend. Our waiter was Megan ( she served the bar too). 15 minutes had went by before Megan came to our table... When she approached us she said "I seen you guys come in, but I was busy with closing out some tabs". She began informing us about Unavailable entrées which was nice to know. We wasn't given any water or utensils yet... Water had to be requested 3 separate times. She took our order and made sure she had everything we requested correct (which was great).. We noticed how she was very attentive to the 2 parties that were sitting on both side to us ( Our table was in the middle. Their was one couple next to us and a small party on the other side which left shortly after we arrived) it was not busy at all... Whenever Megan came outside, she did not check on us at all. She went to the other tables instead with no problem ( We'r the 1st people/table you see when you come out the door) how do you check on everybody else except for us? We still dont have utensils at this point (water finally came). Our food arrived and we still don't have Utensils (it been about 40 mins)... Luckily the Manager came by to check on us, that's when we requested utensils (she was very pleasant). My order was wrong, but our waitress never came by to check on our food, to see if we are enjoying our meal or if we needed anything ( Basic customer service skills that was not given to us).. A new party had came in, was seated 1 tables down from us. They were giving water, utensils and was offered ice for their water....We didnt have the same treatment... Each time Megan came outside she didn't stop by our table, we could barely flag her down because she made no eye contact, even though you can see us before heading to a different table.. At this point my friend couldn't believe what was going on (the poor service). We tried to ignore how unprofessional she was towards us... Before heading out my friend asked to speak with the manager... When the manager came to our table my friend stated all of the things that bothered her... She mentioned the pleasant experiences she normally has and thats why she chose to come here for lunch. The manager listened and was apologetic, and covered our tab, but it was deeper than that (we weren't looking for a free meal) . My friend asked the manager " Did we receive poor service due to our ethnicity? ( African American). The manager made it clear that "They don't tolerate that type of behavior and want all of our customers to be comfortable and happy". We definitely had an uncomfortable experience. I'm a business owner and I understand the importance of superior customer service because your clients are the ones that provide business for you. I really do hope the manager has a talk with Megan, you just don't treat people this way. You've lost us as customers. I hope no one else has to experience or feel the way we felt that day, no one...

EDIT: THIS IS MY NEW REVIEW FROM NOV. 2024! I THINK I ACCIDENTLY WIPED OUT MY REVIEW FROM A YEAR AGO...IDK, 😆 🤣 😂 Hi! I was blessed to have my son take me at the beginning of the month (November) to our fave seafood go to- Pacific Catch! I was super stoked that we got to try the soft launch of some of their winter menu items with fresh lobster and clams! In the first video, you'll see their scrumptious version of clam chowder, featuring fresh steamed clams! They're very fresh, sweet, and tender. Mine came out of their shell so easily! If you love clam chowder, it's a tasty and unique take on it that I highly recommend!

Also, my son's personal favorite (actually the first soup he's ever liked, and he loves it!), their bowl of salmon chowder! It's a menu staple and is so yummy, featuring a large piece of salmon in the chowder, with some hardwood bacon or something...idk, but honestly it's so delicious!! It also comes in a cup size. Both the clam and salmon chowders are served with toasted rustic bread and fresh lemon slices 😋

Duuuuude, their lobster is so freaking good! I got the Surf and Turf. The grilled lobster tail is so sweet, fresh, and flavorful! I totally loved it! My son, who is new to lobster, tried it, and really liked it but would prefer lighter grill marks. It's served with THE MOST AMAZING Lobster Mashed Potatoes! So many huge chunks of wonderful lobster in the creamy mashed potatoes! We both thought they were yummy AF! 😋 The skirt steak is so awesome! I really don't usually like or order skirt steak, but damn if these guys don't know how to make it phenomenal! So tender with tons of flavor! My son isn't a big meat eater, but whenever he orders the fresh grilled fish selections, he always gets the side of skirt steak with it! 😄 my plate also came with broccolini, and Hawaiian sweet rolls. I thoroughly enjoyed my entire meal and can't wait to come back and have it again!

Also in the video is my son's Rainbow Roll 😃I don't do raw sushi, but he said it was extremely delicious and the biggest roll he's ever had, like they made it extra thick around! Such a treat! He dips it in a little mix we make of their teriyaki and soy sauce, that makes it just perfect! I included some snapshots and closeups of the menu items from the videos of our wonderful meal! 📸
