I'll try to make this brief. This bowl costs $18.32, it is not worth it. I honestly can't justify paying $11 for this either, which is generally in the "fair" price range for a poke bowl. I'm happy that some people like this place, but I wouldn't even accept a free meal from here To elaborate: It does look nice, although the quality of the salmon and the imitation crab is noticeably lower than I think a typical Poke shop would serve. I don't understand why they are charging so much more compared to everywhere else, the only thing I can think of is that it is by the beach so.. tourist prices? Anyways, I would not eat here again. Eating it made me feel kind of sick. I don't feel like vomiting, but something in there was definitely not fresh. My stomach is not happy with me right now If I could say one positive thing, I guess I kind of liked the rice, it seems pretty decent. That's probably not the greatest compliment, but it is hard for me to think of something else. Yeah, I'm very sorry for the bad review, but I don't think I'll eat here again. Even if, for example, a friend offered to pay for a bowl here, I'd give it a definite pass

Would definitely recommend if you're in need of a poke bowl fix. Got the dynamite which came with both ahi and salmon and it was so good! Location was in PB so pricing is reasonable. (I've lived in LA and even their poke bowls aren't fulfilling and cost so much more). These are fixed plate but you can add other stuff that is offered if you'd like. Customer service was amazing, they made my friend and I feel so welcomed. I would definitely make the drive from La Mesa to come here and then hang out at the beach after.

Excellent location to get an awesome tasting Poke bowl and be able to take it to the beach and eat. Enjoyed Sunset on the beach while eating the Classic Shoyu and 51/50. This was the first time I tried spam and it was surprisingly yummy. The food was very good. The strawberry mint lemonade was to die for. The portions were huge even for the small bowl. When in PB you need to try this place.

Here’s a polished review for PB Poke House owned by Johnny:

PB Poke House – A Gem in Pacific Beach!

If you’re in San Diego and love poke, PB Poke House is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you walk in, you can tell there’s a vibe that feels fresh, welcoming, and personal – and that’s thanks to Johnny, the passionate owner behind it all.

The ingredients are consistently fresh and the portions are generous. Whether you build your own bowl or go with one of their curated options, every bite is perfectly balanced. The fish tastes incredibly fresh, and the toppings range from classics like avocado and seaweed salad to creative add-ons that keep you coming back for more.

Johnny and the staff always go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Their friendly service stands out in an area where customer care can sometimes feel rushed. You can tell Johnny genuinely cares about creating not just great food but a memorable experience for everyone who walks through the door.

If you’re a poke lover (or even if you’re new to it), PB Poke House is where quality meets heart. Thanks to Johnny’s dedication, it’s not just about great food – it’s about community....

Duuuude…

So I roll into PB Poke House after a righteous morning surf sesh, right? I’m totally starving, like, next-level hangry. I walk in and bam!—the vibe hits me like a clean set at Pipes. Chill tunes, smiling faces, and that fresh ocean energy just radiating off the walls. Immaculate, bro. Absolutely immaculate.

So I snag a plate with shoyu ahi and garlic ahi—and whoa, bro… I practically blacked out from flavor. Like, I took one bite and my taste buds threw a luau. The shoyu was smooth and salty like a perfect cutback, and that garlic ahi? Bro, it was like getting tubed in flavor. Just pure umami shred, ya know?

And don’t even get me started on the mac salad. Creamy, dreamy, and totally next dimension. It’s like… your Hawaiian auntie made it with love and then blessed it with a rainbow.

The dudes who run the place? Top notch legends. Super chill, friendly, and you can tell they’re stoked on serving quality. Real aloha spirit happening behind that counter.

So yeah, if you haven’t hit up PB Poke House yet, what are you even doing, bro? Grab your flip-flops, throw up a shaka, and treat yourself to some poke perfection.

Five outta five...
