First, I own a local craft coffee shop in Denver, CO, so I am incredibly picky about espresso. My family was vacationing in Mission/Pacific beach area and I tried several local coffee shops before finding Pump. They have the best reviews by far so I was pumped (no pun intended) about that. I won’t name the other shops but they were SO mid and nothing special. When I walked into Pump, I immediately saw Ashley, the owner, because she radiates joy, kindness and confidence. The way she interacts with customers is so genuine and she clearly loves coffee and loves building relationships with locals and tourists. We immediately connected about being female craft coffee shop owners. Then I ordered a 12oz half sweet honey cinnamon latte and it was so good! The other local shops just used espresso that was not good! I went back 4 mornings in a row for the rest of our vacation. No other place in the area was worth it and Ashley deserves all the love for her little shop she has. Great vibes, cool decor, great pastry choices, the best espresso you will find in that area. So fun to meet you, Ashley! You always have a friend in Denver, CO! -Chelsea

I stumbled upon this adorable coffee shop during my ongoing mission to explore as many coffee spots as possible while visiting my daughter, and I must say, it did not disappoint. Nestled in a strip mall, we decided to take a leisurely stroll to this charming establishment. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us with genuine warmth and knowledge. He recommended their signature drink, the dirty chai latte—a delightful blend of chai latte infused with two shots of espresso. Trusting his expertise, I eagerly ordered it. The shop itself exuded cleanliness, creating a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. And let's talk about the coffee—it was simply delicious. Each sip carried the perfect balance of flavors, leaving me thoroughly satisfied. What truly impressed me was the outstanding customer service. The staff went above and beyond, providing an experience that deserves an A+ rating. Without a doubt, I will be returning to this coffee shop. It has definitely earned a special place in my list of favorites.

We were running past the sign on the promenade when I saw it said "vegan pastries" I was sold already. They were so good! The croissant had a nice buttery flavour to it, and the dark chocolate was delicious. But the server was correct the poptart was the absolute best option there. It was just the right amount of sweetness and the raspberry flavour was perfection. My partner ordered a regular Americano, and I ordered a rose lavender latte with coconute milk iced. The latte was so good, very flavourful and I loved it being decaf. Has a few seats inside and outside as well as some merchandise for sale. It's only a few steps away from the promenade, directly off of mission Blvd. Worth supporting local and a quaint place too.

If you're looking for a quick and cute coffee shop in the heart of PB, I would definitely recommend this one. The staff was extremely kind and was efficient in making the drinks. Their prices are okay, honestly average for a coffee by the beach. I paid $7.50 for a matcha latte and about the same for a vanilla latte. They do upcharge relatively steep ($1) for alternative milks which is not my favorite as a milk-allergic individual. I tried their matcha latte with vanilla and oatmilk. It was good, but didn't quite have that strong authentic matcha taste that I like to have with a matcha drink. It leaned on the sweeter side and tasted a bit like it had vanilla creamer added in. I did enjoy the taste of it, it was just much sweeter than what I'm used to with matcha lattes. If you don't have a sweet tooth, I'd recommend asking them to tone down the sugar levels in whatever you order. Personally, I didn't mind the extra sweetness. I'd definitely come back to this place again. Although it doesn't have a ton of seating, it's extremely close to the beach and some other public seating to where I would recommend popping by there for a drink. I definitely will be coming back to this...
