GREAT FOOD, GREAT MARGS, GREAT SERVICE!! I am so happy we tried El Prez while in Mission Beach because it truly surpassed our expectations! I had read the great reviews and thought heck yeah, a margarita on a rooftop sounds like a darn good time, so we decided we'd go for happy hour. We sat on their rooftop patio that overlooks the beautiful Pacific Ocean right off Mission Beach and got to watch the sunset while we enjoyed our drinks. I should also mention this place is like 2 or 3 stories, both indoor and outdoor, with plenty of seating on each level. We ordered the Spicy Garcia and Nina Fresa (both on the rocks margaritas) based on the waitress' recommendation, and they were delicious! We ordered the nachos as an appetizer, a Mixto Bowl (which was a taco salad served in a tortilla shell) and 3 tacos as our entrée. Honestly, if we had known how large a portion the nachos were going to be, we could have easily split those and been fine without entrees! Everything tasted so fresh though and the waitress was so kind and helpful - even though their patio was packed, we never felt forgotten about, she was always there to refill waters and ask if we needed anything else. 10/10 highly recommend trying El Prez the next time you want a really good margarita, bomb good food and a beautiful view!

I've been to a ton of restaurants in San Diego but this is definitely at the top of the worst list. I ordered a Presidential margarita that had literally 3 sips (all ice) which the bartender left out the grand mariner. The menu price for this margarita was $14 but when the bill came, they charged me $15 and added a 4% service charge. I kindly asked our waitress and she said that she wasn't the one who added the surcharge and the reason the margarita was a different price was because they're updating the menu. Honestly, it's the principal that they are dishonest. The food was very marginal. The best thing was the service from our server. They do not provide a written receipt either. So, we'll see, when I get my credit card statement, if in fact they removed the service charge as promised. I would NEVER recommend this place.

Disappointed. I visited a couple years ago and loved the lobster tacos...I’ve been bragging about them to everyone, so when I was back in town my husband and I took his sister and it was a flop. Apparently they don’t have the lobster tacos anymore even though it’s still on the menu not crossed out-it was replaced with a shrimp taco. I went ahead and ordered a shrimp and filet taco same with my husband while my sister in law ordered 2 shrimp. The shrimp tacos all came out with different garnish on them and there was 3 teeny tiny shrimp. The filet taco cheese was burned and I mean burned it was inedible, I sent it back and the replacement was ok. For 4 shrimp tacos, 2 filet tacos and 2 margaritas my total was around $50-worst money spent. I’m sad to say I will not be visiting this establishment again😒

I came here with a group of friends for my birthday and I did not have a pleasant experience at all. We were charged for items that we had either never ordered or had already paid for. We attempted to work this out with the waitress, but she kept walking away from the table, so I got frustrated and decided to just pay the bill and call the restaurant later (big mistake on my part). After communicating with and meeting with the managers for a week, one of them finally called me back after going over the bill with the waitress. According to him, one of the explanations the waitress gave for the extra charges was that "a girl" in our party had apparently ordered three beers (three different kinds to be exact...who does that?) when in fact the only person who ordered beer the entire afternoon was my friend's boyfriend. It got very crowded later in the afternoon, and the waitstaff wasn't using pads to write down orders, so there's a high possibility that she accidentally took someone else's order and thought they were part of our group. Everyone makes mistakes, but the managers were extremely defensive and refused to acknowledge that this could be a possibility. Instead, I was yelled at on the phone, I did not feel like my side of the story was acknowledged at all, and he accused us of being drunk and not remembering what we ordered, which is not the case. Most of my friends only ordered 1-2 drinks, and we were very observant of the items that we ordered/came to our table. In the end, I was able to receive a refund for a portion of what was charged, which I appreciated, and I was glad that they did take the time to look into the dispute, but I did not appreciate how I was treated in dealing with this issue at all. In the end, I was not mad about the money, but rather the lack of customer service. In addition, I have since had multiple trusted friends report to me that they have also been charged for extra items on different occasions. I have lived in PB for 5 years and this was one of my favorite bars, but I won't be returning...

The security guard is an extremely racist individual. I didn't catch his name, however, he's a Caucasian male, tall and blonde hair. We were a group of 15 individuals visiting San Diego for a wedding in APRIL 2019, he made us all feel very uncomfortable. Firstly, he watched our table the entire time, as if we didn't belong within the vicinity. Our heated lamp became inoperable, we asked the server many times to fix the heated lamps. The server asked the security guard to help and instead of coming over, he stared from a far and never came over. One of the guests within the group approached the security guard for help and instead of helping, he came over to the table blatantly blaming us for turning off a "propane operated" lamp. I stated to him many times to check the propane tank, maybe it should be changed. Instead he was filled with ignorance and arrogance and refused. Finally, he checked the tank and realized the tank indeed needed to be changed, however he NEVER apologized for his crude mannerisms and accusing us of turning it off! He only did this because we were a Hispanic and Black group.

I will NEVER SUPPORT RACISM!!! I will...
